A synthesis about the monumental site of the Alhambra and Generalife is given here, according to its historical evolution and its main constructive, decorative and symbolic cha- racteristics. Visit Generalife and Alcazaba, Transfer to CÓRDOBA After breakfast meet again with your guide to start the monumental visit of the red palace. We start with the Generalife Gardens, which are one of the most important examples of the Islamic architecture in Andalucia. Continuation with the Alcazaba, palace of Carl V and at least the NASRID Palace. After some time for lunch, drive to Córdoba. On Arrival check in at Hotel **** situated in the city centre. Dinner at a Halal Restaurant walking distance from the hotel and inside the Jewish quarter. 3. Visit Mosque and Jewish Quarter, Transfer to Sevilla After breakfast meet with our local guide to start with the first part of the monumental visit. Visit of the incredible mosque, which is today a Christian cathedral, continuation with the Jewish quarter. After some time for lunch continuation to the Ruins of Medina Azahara : 7 kilometers from Cordoba away is the former Madinat al-Zahra (Medina Azahara) example of Andalusia city. It was built by order of the Caliph of Cordoba Abd al-Rahman III in the 10th century (between 936 and 976) on the Mount of the Bride or al-Arus Chabal, to be the capital of the Caliphate royal residence and seat of government.

There, the revival of classical Roman culture took place against the backdrop of Islamic civilization. The Renaissance was brought to the city by its conquerors along with Christianity and Castilian law. When Granada fell, many Muslim leaders fled to North Africa. Other elite families stayed, collaborated with the new rulers and began to promote this new classical culture. The Granada Venegas were one of the families that stayed, and participated in the Renaissance in Granada by sponsoring a group of writers and poets, and they served the crown in various military capacities. They were royal, having descended from a Sultan who had ruled Granada in 1431. Cidi Yahya Al Nayar, the heir to this family, converted to Christianity prior to the conquest. Thus he was one of the Morisco elites most respected by the conquerors.
