It is not done to apply pressure on any Wikimedia-related institution or team.  The information provided by this presentation reflects the thoughts and opinions of the author and does not outline the position of Wikimedia affiliates towards the current Wikimedia policy of Strategy and Branding.  The statistical data shown in this presentation is verifiable online in the sources stated as the References. If any information is not accurate or needs further adjustment, feel free to contact the author of this work.  I thank Wikimedia Community for useful comments and ideas about this topic.  has been created to open the access to the information for all the types of people and institutions all over the world. In a data-driven world, data access is a determining factor of the development of industries and consequently of countries, mainly developing ones.  Providing more interest to in policies can harm the social and the technical attention to other Wikimedia projects mainly . Data industries and institutions such as Google and W3C are spending a lot of money to develop intelligent systems to clean the information provided by wikis before using it in their web services.  Letting the Mediawiki API pay-walled just like the APIs of commercial web services will let industries prefer to use the APIs of web services that are curated by human experts and by computer programs. This will harm the further development of the data maintenance infrastructure of the Wikimedia projects that is mostly developed by Wikimedia volunteers and corporations.  There are several projects not working very well, particularly Wikinews, Wikiversity, Wikiquote, and Wikivoyage. Providing a revision of these projects is needed.  According to Alexa Statistics, wikimedia.org is currently ranked 322nd worldwide.  Two scenarios are probable:  Scenario 1: This disproves the assumption that “Wikimedia” term is not well known. By contrast, not using “Wikimedia” will let Wikimedia Movement lose the current image of the term.  Scenario 2: Interactive bridges and links between Wikipedia and a sister project can enhance the visibility of the linked Wikimedia project. can be an example of this fact.  Wikimedia.org domain name can be used to host the websites not working well:  wikimediafoundation.org  foundation.wikimedia.org  tools.wmflabs.org  tools.wikimedia.org  mediawiki.org  mediawiki.wikimedia.org  wikiba.se  wikibase.wikimedia.org  I propose to keep Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wikibooks and Wikisource in their current working format and to change the other projects into a frontend of the multilingual outputs of Wikidata and Wikilambda. This implies the enhancement of support of the output types represented by these projects in Wikidata as shown in the explanatory figure (News, Quotes…).  Letting inactive Wikimedia projects driven by structured information will allow them to be automatically enriched, customized, updated and adjusted on a daily basis using a variety of techniques including deep learning and word embeddings and by aligning Wikidata items with external web services like Google Trends. Daily automated curation of these projects will allow them to have wider audience. Wikispecies Wikinews Species News

However, several points can be enhanced:  When seeing the current structure of research affiliates, it is clear that it can cause the occurrence of conflicts of interest: Thematic user groups vs. Regional user groups, Chapters vs. User groups, and Regional Hubs vs. Regional Affiliates. A more precise definition of the missions of each type of Wikimedia affiliates can be absolutely interesting.  A universal code of conduct is a need. However, creating precise bylaws for ombuds commission and Trust and Safety that allow complainers and complained users to have a transparent judgment and defense and to know about the decisions of the requests.  The evaluation of a given program should be multidisciplinary and involve the different teams of Wikimedia Foundation, particularly Research Team and Wikimedia Technology.  Interesting outcomes  Several points can be eliminated such as the renaming policy and the financial sustainability point.  Several points can be enhanced by considering several other important features of the current situation of the Wikimedia movement.  Alexa Internet (2020).
