    2011 REDISTRICTING AND 2012 ELECTIONS IN OHIO September 2012 Final Congressional Redistricting Plan 2012 Projections (9R, 4D, 3?)* Ohio Republicans had a big year in 2010 in House elections, gaining five seats for a 13-5 overall margin. Their redistricting plan largely seeks to consolidate those gains. First-term Republicans Steve Chabot, Bill Johnson and Steve Stivers received much better districts, as did long-term Republican Pat Tiberi.     Jean Schmidt State Representative Good afternoon Chairman Hillyer, Vice Chair Grendell and Ranking Member Galonski. I appreciate the opportunity to testify on House Concurrent Resolution 18. While I fully support the House Resolution introduced by my colleagues, if passed, this concurrent resolution could be considered by the Ohio Senate, making it a product of the Ohio General Assembly, not just the House of Representatives. My concurrent resolution asks for the Congress to adopt the “Keep Nine” amendment to the United States Constitution that states: “The Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine justices.” Just last year, a bipartisan, nonpartisan group of former State Attorneys general formed the Coalition to Preserve the Independence of the US Supreme Court. I’m pleased to inform you that the Keep Nine Amendment now has the support of over 160 members of Congress and a growing list of state legislative chambers, Governors, Lt. Governors, and Attorneys General along with other statewide elected officials across the country. As you know, Congressional Democrats recently unveiled a proposal to expand the number of seats on the Court from nine to 13 – and while Nancy Pelosi has said she has “no plans to bring it to the floor,” I have concerns that the issue won’t go away. I served in Congress with three of the co-sponsors of “The Judiciary Act of 2021 and I know first-hand that when Jerry Nadler, a seasoned legislator, wants something done in the House, he will use his influence as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee to get it done.

We have much to be thankful for this year as the LORD is providing students that attend the high school, the facility and board leadership who believe in the mission of LCHS, to a community and alumni network that shows its support to LCHS in many different ways. 2019 in the agricultural community will be one to remember by everyone. Spring blizzards that delayed planting, timely rains during the summer, to a heavy fall rain (and even snow) that delayed harvest and fall work. Praise the Lord as He provided for the crops and pastures for the livestock for the area producers. It was evident that no year is the same and it was truly amazing all the moisture that the Lord sent. The 54th Annual Schmeckfest was well attended and supported generously with donations from community members and businesses from the local communities. I am always amazed at how generous people are to LCHS. The Alumni Booster Club committee has discussed projects and specific needs that we can continue to support the work of Christ through the mission of LCHS. The main project that will be completed in the short term, is the installation of a camera system through the NFHS (National Federation High School) Association that will allow the live stream of sporting events.

    The Hannah Report Special Election Edition May 3, 2006 2006 Primary Election Results Party caucuses held a few surprises Tuesday. There were a number of anticipated blow-outs and several nail-biters, including a seven-way Democratic primary in the 10th House District that was still too close to call at end of business Wednesday. Results remain officially "unofficial" in all races and do not reflect provisional voting. Absentee ballots were also out in Cuyahoga County, where the election board was forced to count votes by hand in the 10th District and other races. A disclaimer at the secretary of state's website notes that results will be final 81 days after the date on which county boards of elections have all completed official canvases, which must be no later than May 23, 2006. Statewide Races U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland (D-Ohio) easily overcame his opponent to win the Democratic caucus for governor by a factor of four. Bryan Flannery was unable to capitalize on allegations concerning a former Strickland staffer arrested for public indecency.
