The Parishes of Twenty-nineth Sunday in Ordinary Time October 18, 2020 Around 3,000 people showed up to his beatification at the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi! In his homily for Carlo’s beatification, Cardinal Agostino Vallini had said, “He was an ordinary boy, simple, spontaneous, likeable 4 he loved nature and animals, he played football, he had many friends of his age, he was attracted by modern means of social communication, passionate about computer science, and, self- taught, he built websites to transmit the Gospel, to communicate values and beauty.” He was also a gamer! A friend recalls times they would get together to play games such as Halo, but his mom said that his clear favorites were Super Mario Brothers and Pokémon. Blessed Carlo had once said, “When we face the sun we get a tan ... but when we stand before Jesus in the Eucharist we become saints.” His body was on display for veneration from October 1-17. The annual celebration of his feast has been marked for October 12th. (source: ncregister.com) Shortly after his death, people had received miracles of healing through his intercession. Blessed Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
