LONDON BOROUGH OF HILLINGDON TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC (UXBRIDGE ROAD, HAYES) ORDER 2019 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

WHEREAS the Council of the London Borough of Hillingdon (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) being the traffic authority for Uxbridge Road, Hayes in the said London Borough is satisfied that vehicular traffic movements should be prohibited to enable LB Hillingdon to carry out resurfacing works.

NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and all other enabling powers hereby make the following Order:-

1. The Order shall come into operation on 23rd April 2019 and may be cited as the London Borough of Hillingdon, Temporary Restriction of Traffic (Uxbridge Road, Hayes) Order 2019.

2. Until the said works are completed no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed on Uxbridge Road, between its junction with Brookside Road and the Junction with The Broadway, Southall.

3. Nothing in this Order shall apply to any vehicle engaged in the said works or of any excavations, improvement, reconstruction, laying or repair in the carriageway of any main, pipe, cable or apparatus for the distribution, supply or disposal of gas, water, sewage, electricity or telecommunications.

4. An alternative route for vehicles is available as per the attached schedule.

5. Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a traffic warden.

6. Nothing in this Order shall apply to any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency.

7. Nothing in this order shall apply to any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 and Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984.

8. The prohibitions specified in this Order shall only apply during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.

9. This order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
