SOUTHWEST KEY PROGRAMS OVERVIEW Southwest Key Program (SWK) is a national nonprofit organization that exists to create opportunities and improve the quality of life for thousands of youth and families each day by providing safe shelter, alternatives to incarceration, career development and quality education. This is done through four areas of programming: Immigrant Children’s Shelters, Youth and Family Services, and Workforce Solutions. 1. SCOPE OF WORK: SWK is seeking bids for the purchase of laptops to be shipped to multiple locations (see section 3 for specific locations). If bidding other than a specified brand, bidder must include with its bid sufficient literature to allow for the evaluation of the items. Failure to provide literature with the bid response may be cause for not considering an award. During the response analysis following the IFB closing date, SWK will consider any proposed additional products not specified on this pricing sheet, offered services related to the products posted, or cost-saving benefits related to a warranty as incorporated material along with the posted items. 2. SHIPPING TERMS: F.O.B. destination, freight prepaid and allowed (included in unit price). 3. DELIVERY LOCATIONs: The estimated quantities shall be delivered to the address in the chart below. PRODUCT ADDITIONS TO THE PO/CONTRACT: If the awarded Bidder can guarantee fixed pricing for a term beyond this PO award, SWK may request to enter into an annual contract with the awarded bidder for the same goods and services beyond the initial Purchase Order. 6. REQUIREMENTS/LIMITATIONS: Quantities may be increased or decreased based on need during the term of the PO. The quantities shown are estimates only and do not constitute a guarantee of purchase. 7. SWK POINT OF CONTACT – PROCUREMENT STAFF: All communications relating to this IFB must be directed to the SWK Procurement Department as named on this IFB. All communications between respondents and other SWK staff members concerning this IFB are strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in bid disqualification. 8. SPECIFICATIONS: SWK reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the specifications. See Price Sheet and Exhibit A below for detailed items. It is highly encouraged but not required for Bidders to bid on all lines. SWK reserves the right to award to multiple vendors if it is in its best interest to do so 9. PRICING: This is a fixed price per unit and price will remain the same during the term of the PO. Bidder must propose their price based on the specifications of each line item and Exhibit A. Bidder will indicate price on the Bid Pricing Sheet (Attachment B). Page 3 of 6 10. BID ADDENDUM SWK may modify or revise a posted IFB via an addendum to extend a due date, respond to vendor questions, or make revisions. SWK TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Any Bidders not accepting the attached SWK Terms and Conditions may be disqualified. 13.     The REFORMA Children in Crisis (CIC) project has been moving even more quickly these days to address the an ever expanding range of immigrant needs across the country. Since 2014 when Oralia Garza de Cortés and Lucía González first raised their voices and formed the Children in Crisis project at the REFORMA Membership Meeting at the 2014 ALA Conference in Las Vegas, we have been delivering books to the children and connecting them with libraries. Our efforts have involved a number of REFORMA Chapters using various strategies. Recently, with the family separation tragedy and the caravan arrivals, angered citizens have been searching for ways to assist the children and their families from Central America who seek asylum at our southern border. We are one of the projects they have selected as a way to express their concern. Historically, Silvia Cisneros, Past President of REFORMA flew to McAllen, Texas where she donated the first shipment of books to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) station. From there we began planning a strategy that would allow us to reach out to detention centers in Texas, shelters in California and we formed many alliances along the way. Thanks to grants from the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and the Believe in Reading Foundation, the Children in Crisis project has been able to purchase and donate books to various shelters and facilities across the country. REFORMA and IBBY met in Texas at the border in McAllen for a fact finding mission in 2015.

Academically, we research social inequities at a population level and disseminate and use our findings in order to provide outcome-driven solutions. Our expertise is in clinical emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, health services research, and investigating access to specialty care. Elizabeth Pirrotta has expertise in statistical analysis and visualization of large, population-wide datasets.
