Chwibonogl Farm Guide Book Chwibonogl Farm Guide Book Welcome to Chwibonogl Farm! (Qui - bon - og - all) We’re excited to have you and hope you find everything to your liking and that you have a restful stay with us. Please don’t hesitate to message us (+44 7960 639999) if there’s anything you need at all - WhatsApp tends to work best - but otherwise have a lovely stay and I’m sure we’ll see you around the property! Andy & Angi The Suite & Grounds First things first, let’s get you connected. The login details for the guest wifi network is: Chwibonogl Farm Guest teifivalley29 Should you want to be able to refer to this guide when out and about, you can access it at www.chiwbonogl.farm/guide The guest suite was completely refurbished in 2020 but of course is an historical building. Some key points below: - We’ve set the temperature to what we hope is just right but if you’re too hot or cold drop us a message and we’ll happily come and demonstrate how to adjust the heating controls or can do so for you. - Should you want additional blankets and pillows, drop us a message and we’ll bring them over for you. - Like a lot of patio doors ours can sometimes expand in warmer weather and become difficult to close. If you struggle to close them, just let us know and one of us will come and fix them. - The television aerial in the bedroom is setup and ready to go, just turn switch on the socket when in use. - The whole property is non-smoking, both indoors and out. Thank you! - Our fresh water supply is limited and waste of any kind Water is precious please do not waste it! - As with many old buildings the suite does not have air bricks in the walls so a dehumidifier is behind the wardrobe room door should you need it. - The extractor fan switch for the bathroom is above the arch as you enter. - The toilet flush is a brand new spring style handle that requires very little push. A gentle turn should do it! - We are not connected to the main sewer network and instead have a septic system which blocks very easily. Please only flush toilet paper and use the bin provided for anything else. - Please leave all rubbish in the blue bag outside the door and we’ll collect it. - Please ensure food waste goes in the small food waste bin, it’ll be recycled to feed local farm animals. - All other waste besides glass goes in the blue bin liners for recycling. When changing the bins, leave the tied up bags outside your door and we’ll collect it, feel free to give us a nudge via message. - The First aid kit is in the right hand drawer of the kitchen. - The light switch besides the kettle is for the outside light - whilst it is a motion sensor light the sheep will often turn it on repeatedly overnight so please turn it off when not in use and make sure you do when you’re stargazing! - There’s a BBQ in the Garden box as you enter the private garden - help yourself but please leave it as you found it! We’ve left you a bag of charcoal in the kitchen if the mood and weather takes you. - There’s a green picnic bag underneath the leaflets display, please help yourself. - There’s board games in the sofa foot rest, help yourselves! - As far as possible, please enter and exit the paddocks and move up and down the property from the car park side. The majority of the ongoing work is on the other side. Policies - If you have a dog with you there are bags under the sink please ensure you use them if necessary! - It is absolutely critical that your pet is kept on a lead at all times. We’re surrounded on all sides by farm land with live stock and often sheep will wander onto our property. - Dogs cannot be left in the accommodation unattended. We don’t want our four legged friends getting lonely or causing damage! - Chwibonogl Farm has a strict no smoking policy anywhere on the grounds, indoors or out. - We appreciate our guests showing respect and consideration to our property and our neighbours. Generally speaking this is as simple as closing gates, taking litter away with you and leaving the land as you found it. For more info, we’ve included the latest version of the countryside code at the back of this guide. - More important than anything else to us is that our guests are safe at all times and we do everything possible to ensure that is the case with hand rails and suitable materials where possible. Our grounds are managed and maintained constantly but we are situated in an authentic mountainous landscape. Along with the paddocks and river we have steep drops, slippery surfaces, uneven ground and as mentioned live farm animals. Please ensure that you enjoy the full property and landscape with proper care and attention to avoid any accidents spoiling your holiday! Nearby Chwibonogl Farm is a short drive to the university and market town of Lampeter with multiple pubs and restaurants as well as a regular farmers market, antique auction, horse fair and the annual Lampeter Food Festival all take place. For stocking the fridge and cupboards, Lampeter has an abundance of local food producers, world class butchers, bakers and grocers including Watson & Pratt, Lampeter Bakehouse, Jones Bros Butchers, Blaencamel Organic Farm Shop and Mulberry Bush Wholefoods. Lampeter is also home to the very first University in Wales: founded in 1822, the Trinity Saint David Campus is modelled after one of the colleges at Oxford. Whether visiting a student or merely visiting Lampeter, the University is a must see spot for a quiet afternoon walk. For days out off the farm less than five minutes away is Saddle Tramps Riding School and twenty minutes away is Cilgwyn Golf Club. Slightly further afield is he UK’s only known Roman gold mine, Dolaucothi, and there’s Llanerchaeron, an 18th century estate includes a farm, walled gardens and lake. We are a very short drive away from several fishing lakes and rivers who issue day passes. Our favourite is Springwater Lakes in Llanwrda who have Fly, Coarse and Specimen fishing lakes in 20 acres of mountain lined countryside. There’s multiple steam Railways within a short drive, the two nearest to us are Gwili Railway and Teifi Valley Railway. The Teifi Valley Railway is a narrow gauge railway built on the former GWR Newcastle Emlyn branch line in rural West Wales whilst the Gwili Railway is a full size historical railway recreating the golden age of steam and follows the River Gwili on a steady uphill journey through farmland and wooded hillsides. Emergency Information The large windows at front double as a fire escape and open fully to step out, please only open in case of fire. The fire blanket in the kitchen and fire extinguisher are for emergency use and should only be used if you are completely confident of escape. Always vacate the building as quickly as you can and alert others. Call 999 in an emergency as soon as possible. The carbon monoxide detecter is for your safety, please do not tamper with it. It has already been activated and requires no adjustment.
