Returning to Campus Update A brief update on our phased return to normal business operations: Our Wave 3 return is ongoing. Planning for Wave 4 has begun now that State has entered Phase 4 of its reopening plan, and infection rates have been at <1% for more than three weeks. Wave 4 is expected to kick off October 6. The focus for this wave is on those faculty, staff, doctoral and postdoctoral students whose work and team benefit from some on campus presence.

Reminder: Employees who can productively work remotely should continue to do so unless otherwise directed by their supervisor.

Please Note: Colleagues that are designated to return to campus are required to be given three weeks’ advance notice and must have completed all of the University’s public health protocols (outlined in this bulletin) before returning to work onsite.

Update as of September 18, 2020

1. New! A ReOpen CU App "Green Pass" Now Requires FULL Health Protocol Compliance Starting September 25, the ReOpen CU app will keep track of whether or not employees have completed the required public health protocols to return to campus. Once you receive approval to return from your office or department, you must: 1. Read the Enhanced University Health and Safety Policy 2. Take the required Safety Training 3. Get Tested 4. Self-Quarantine, if required 5. Use the ReOpen CU app to report any symptoms and sign CU's Health Compact 6. Complete the Symptom Self-Check daily and stay home if you feel unwell

Failure to complete any of those steps will trigger a "Red Pass" in the ReOpen CU app, which effectively bars the employee from entering any University buildings.

2. Using Temporary Hires Onsite Temporary hires working onsite as part of Wave 4 will be categorized as "guests." As such, managers must follow CUIMC's guest protocols when bringing a temp onsite: All temps must be registered 24 hours in advance of their arrival on campus by emailing [email protected], cc: Brian Byrne ([email protected]). Include the date/time, building/floor, who should be notified when the temp arrives (the supervisor), and supervisor telephone number. All temps must have a valid government ID and be wearing proper PPE in order to enter any CUIMC building. Gateway testing is not required for temps at this time.

3. Open Enrollment Virtual Benefits Forums Our annual benefits Open Enrollment (OE) is November 2 - 20, 2020, when eligible Officers and Support Staff can enroll or change their benefit elections for 2021. Benefits Information Forums will be held online to protect our community. See Open Enrollment information for details.

4. 5-Borough Shuttle Now Running Columbia Transportation has launched a shuttle service for faculty and staff weekdays during the fall semester. Shuttles run in all five boroughs throughout the day with easy access to commuter rail and park-and-ride locations. The fare is $4.50 each way. For a route map see the transportation website.
