Division of Academic Affairs The Division of Academic Affairs facilitates academic policies, procedures, and standards for students and faculty as well as oversees school curriculum and curricular initiatives. They will be available to discuss Advanced Standing, Credit by Exam and general questions regarding program and plans and advisement.

Office of Development & Alumni Relations The Office of Development and Alumni Relations fosters strong relationships with Columbia Nursing alumni, students, and friends and raises the financial resources that are vital to Columbia Nursing’s mission and commitment to excellence in nursing education, research, and practice. Tur office connects alumni and students in meaningful ways—through various events and programming throughout the year.

Office of Diversity & Cultural Affairs The diversity committee's goal is to support an intellectual learning environment that promotes social justice, innovative research, practice and policy aimed at eliminating health inequalities. They strive for a culture of inclusion and connection that embraces diverse local, regional and global communities with the goal of improving health of all people.

The Office of Global Initiatives The vision of the Office of Global Initiatives of School of Nursing is to contribute to global health equity by addressing health disparities through service, practice, education, research and leadership. Their mission is to facilitate education, research, clinical practice and leadership by fostering strategic partnerships that advance the practice of nursing to address global health disparities.

CUIMC and Morningside Offices

AIMS (Addiction Information & Management Strategies) Addiction Information and Management Strategies, better known as AIMS, is a free and confidential resource available to all CUMC students. The AIMS office has professional staff and peer representatives available to assist students who experience issues or have questions related to substance use, abuse, and dependence as well as concerning behaviors. AIMS is committed to maintaining a substance-safe campus. AIMS has a three tier approach to providing comprehensive harm reduction intervention, prevention, and treatment services to impact CUMC students at three target levels (individual, group and community).

Arts Initiative at Columbia University The Arts Initiative at Columbia University is a pioneering venture to make arts and culture a meaningful part of every Columbian's experience. Founded in 2004, our diverse programs encourage students, faculty, and staff to experience the creative life of the campus, engage the cultural riches of and the wider world, and create arts and performance. Under the auspices of the Arts Initiative, Columbia students, faculty, and staff attend cultural events across New York City, benefit from ticket discounts and subsidies, and connect with each other through our vibrant arts programming.

Center for Student Wellness The Center for Student Wellness (CSW) recognizes that life at CUIMC (and outside of it) can be incredibly rewarding and demanding. CSW aims to create an environment that promotes student fulfillment and growth, both personally and academically. Through free, confidential Wellness Appointments and through Wellness Works! Health Promotion programs, they offer guidance for navigating the challenges of graduate school life.

Columbia Student Medical Outreach (CoSMO) CoSMO is a clinic that allows nursing and nurse practitioner students practice valuable skills. Nursing students get to practice blood draws, triage, Welcome Expo collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and much more. CoSMO is a supportive and fun learning environment for everyone!

CUMC Information Technology The CUMC IT Service Desk acts as a centralized point of contact for technical support and resources for Faculty, Staff and Students, providing free first level troubleshooting for account, programs and systems at CUMC via phone, email and through the remote CUMC IT eSupport tool.

Office of Disability Services Disability Services (DS) facilitates access for students with disabilities by coordinating accommodations and services, thereby cultivating a campus culture that is sensitive and responsive to the needs of students. DS works with students with all types of disabilities including physical, psychological, sensory, learning disabilities, AD/HD, temporary injuries and chronic medical conditions. The registration process can take 3-5 weeks to complete and can be initiated any time. However, it is strongly recommended that you contact DS no later than June 6th so accommodations can be determined at least one week in advance of any in-class assessments and exams.

Fire Safety CUMC Fire Safety manages all the Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm systems on campus. They interact and supervise contractor work that could affect our Fire Systems. In conjunction with EH&S Fire Safety, campus Fire Drills are conducted on a periodic basis. Lastly, they respond to all building Fire Alarms to interface with the Fire Department and investigate the causes of alarms.

Knowledge Center at Health Sciences Library The Knowledge Center at the Augustus C. Long Health Sciences Library is located on the lobby and lower levels of the Hammer Health Sciences Building. At the Knowledge Center, students have access to knowledgeable staff, computers, print and online resources, a quiet reading room, and 24- hour study spaces. Throughout the semester there are classes, appointments, and special events.

Office of Military and Veteran Affairs The Office of Military & Veterans Affairs assist veterans and dependents in utilizing their benefits to finance their tuition expenses as well as provide resources on and off campus.

Ombuds Office The Ombuds Office is a confidential resource for any member of the Columbia community to discuss and to generate options for resolution of workplace issues, interpersonal conflict, academic concerns, bureaucratic problems, and many other issues. University community can seek guidance regarding disputes or concerns at no cost and at any stage in the resolution process, as a first step or a last resort. The Ombuds office offers in-person and phone appointments. It offers a variety of services including coaching, facilitation, informal mediation, and trainings.

Public Safety CU Public Safety will be on hand to discuss personal safety and services available to students, faculty and staff.

Registration and Student Financial Services Registration and Student Financial Services is a central resource office for our health professional schools at the medical center campus. We are a satellite operation of the University’s Central Administration. The office supports the health sciences campus community by providing guidance on academic policies and procedures that govern program and tuition billing assessments, and curriculum redesign.

Welcome Expo Sexual Violence Response Trauma-informed, confidential support through crisis counseling/intervention, advocacy, prevention, and outreach. Services are available to survivors and co-survivors who have been impacted by sexual, intimate-partner, or gender-based violence, stalking, or harassment. Advocates are available year round by contacting the 24/7 SVR Helpline at (212)854-4357 (HELP).

SHS (Student Health Services) SHS is a part of the Student Health Service Medical Services team and is there to provide clarity on any administrative, medical, or insurance related questions.

Student Organizations

Columbia Student Nurse Association (CSNA) The mission of Columbia SNA is to facilitate the transition from student nurse to professional nurse through the development of leadership, innovation, and service. Columbia SNA will promote a diverse, socially responsible learning community with exemplary academic rigor, service to the community, and mentorship to advance the field of nursing.

Columbia University Men in Nursing (CUMN) Columbia Men in Nursing started as a networking group for the relatively small number of male representatives in the field of nursing, but has evolved into an organization dedicated to mentoring and guiding all students, regardless of gender. They work with other student organizations, such as the Diversity Committee and Student Nurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health, as well as the wider NYC Regional Men in Nursing Chapter, to provide an inclusive, informative and empowering space for all students, their questions and their ideas. Throughout the course of each semester, Welcome Expo CUMN organizes panel discussions, research presentations, networking events and skills classes for the student body, providing greater insight into a career following their time at CUSON. Global Health Interest Group The vision of the Global Health Student Group is to provide a forum and focal point within the student body to engage students in the School of Nursing's efforts to contribute to global health equity by addressing health disparities through service, practice, education, research and leadership. Their hope is to encourage current and aspiring nurses to participate in global issues as the largest sector of the healthcare community as they move into practice settings beyond Columbia University.

Nurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health (NSRH) Nursing Students for Choice (NSFC) is a national grassroots organization dedicated to advancing and securing reproductive health and justice for all. Recognizing that nurses are frontline health care practitioners, patient advocates, and community health educators, NSFC fulfills its mission by advocating for substantially increased reproductive health and abortion training for nurses, organizing a nationwide network of nursing student activist, supporting the leadership of nursing students and all nurses in the reproductive justice movement, collaborating across the nursing profession and with other health care providers to maximize resources and expertise, and creating a new generation of reproductive health and abortion provider nurses.

Oncology Nursing of Columbia ONC is a student run organization that acts to bring awareness to oncology related nursing topics. They host informational events and events to raise awareness and money. Welcome Breakfast
