Bringing people together since 1945

Delfos Cricket Club was founded by Hamat and Issy Sallie, Shorty and Moosa Bagus, Amien Variava and Uzar Gassiep. What began with Delfos Engineering providing kits for local youth to play soccer, the same founders decided a cricket club would also unite the community. For a while, the old Fietas and car park Cricket Fields were buzzing with excitement from fixtures but segregation during the 1960s meant that the club had to be disbanded.

Back and stronger than ever

In 1982 Fuad Domingo re-established the club alongside Boeta Omar Hassen. Benji, and Arrie Jaffar, and Yusuf Latha. Since its unification in 1992, Delfos remains the only club to keep its original uniform. And with Faizel Sallie driving the junior program in 1994, the club has never looked back. Today, there are seven junior and six senior teams, with the 1st team participating in the Premier League of the Cricket Board.

A vision of growth and continuous improvement

In 2010, the Gauteng Cricket Board upgraded Delfos facilities with two more playing strips and three additional nets. 2016 saw Chairman Earl Glennistor approach the Sports Trust and Sage Payroll Services to propose an upgrade to the clubhouse facility.
