Sixth Form Uniform List The items on this list can be bought from any retailer. Sixth Formers are expected to wear smart, business attire throughout the school day. Girls Boys Smart Trouser Suits and / or Smart Skirt Suits Lounge suit, plain/pin-striped shirt, school tie, socks Business-like skirts below knee to mid-calf hooped/coloured/plain. Pastel-shade or white blouses (nothing neon or garish) Plain navy blue or black V-neck sweater may be worn under Jumpers-plain and in muted shades jackets in winter months. Shower proof navy jacket or a navy Crombie-style overcoat A waistcoat is permissible provided that it is of a plain design. Polishable black shoes 2½-5cm heel max In the summer term a jacket/blazer and different coloured trousers may be worn. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Shirts should be in colours appropriate for business. Top button must be fastened. Jackets, blazers, trousers must be plain and the colour must be within business norms. *Bedstone tie (Ties must be done up to the top button and end at the top of the trousers - belt line). He would be interested, he replied, but that if I would please understand he would like not to have to apply. Very well; would he give me his resume? Yes, he would. This was pure John. As John prepared to leave St. Paul’s, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth made him a Lieutenant of the Victorian Order (LVO) for his distinguished services to the Crown at London’s great cathedral, where John led the music for many royal and state occasions – not to mention the daily round of choral evensongs and other liturgies.

Every Thursday, we’ll post a new page featuring an original design for costumes, sets, or props from past Globe shows. Along the way, you’ll be treated to design insight from artisans who brought these ideas to life. Color them in however you want (creativity welcome!), and post on your social media and tag @theoldglobe and #globecoloringbook. The following Tuesday, we’ll post some of our favorites, along with the designer’s original rendering and a photo of the final design onstage. It’s time for your vision to take the spotlight! Hamlet: Laertes, a young lord Dashing in a velvet cloak and cap, a richly textured houndstooth doublet (jacket) and breeches (calf length trousers). Cap is decorated with ostrich plumes, often placed on the left side of the cap leaving the right sword arm free to fight. A sword was an essential part of a gentlemen’s dress in the 17th century. Hamlet: In this 2007 production of Hamlet, the costumes were made from silk and wool fabrics in the shades of pale grey. In contrast, the main character, Hamlet, wore both a black and a scarlet suede doublet and breeches. The ladies were dressed in long sumptous gowns with corsets and padded petticoats. Sword fighting and scheming was afoot under the stars on the magical outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Stage. Familiar: Anne, eccentric aunt from Zimbabwe Costumed in grand style in a long colorful floral cotton skirt, blouse with large sleeve ruffles, and matching headdress.

[email protected] Abstract This study highlights a number of different aspects regarding uniforms and dress codes in the United Kingdom (UK) and Sweden. The study comprises three parts: a quantitative comparison of GCSE pass rates for schools in the UK that do and do not have school uniforms, a qualitative survey study of Scottish High School pupils' perceptions about their uniform and a qualitative interview study of Swedish teachers, administrators and pupils about their school dress, rules regarding school dress and school uniforms. Regarding whether uniforms improved academic results by comparing GCSE pass rates in the UK we were unable to find conclusive evidence to suggest that schools which had uniform policies performed significantly better than other schools. Regarding Scottish pupils’ perceptions of their uniforms, pupils from lower-educated backgrounds were more likely to perceive that they were told off by teachers about not wearing the correct dress. When asked whether pupils felt more equal compared to their peers, those from lower-educated background were more likely to think that uniforms do not help to level out class difference compared to pupils from better educated backgrounds. Regarding bullying, even though uniforms existed at the school studied bullying due to what pupils wore to school still existed and pupils perceived that bullying due to other factors such as physical appearance also occurred.

1 Chain Maille Santas by Karen Karon Here is a guide to making my Tiny Scale and Chain Maille Santas. You’ll need to know the following weaves – European 4-in-1 (E41), Jens Pind Linkage (JPL), Hoodoo Hex, Shaggy Loops and Mobius– to complete them, as the weave instructions are not included in this guide. Note: All 20g jump rings are (AWG). 18g jump rings are (SWG). All Santas are approximately 2” to 2.25” in length. Santa’s Hat (same for all 5 Santas): The hat is made from E41 weave. The first 8 rows of the hat (from the top down) are made with 36 20g 3/32” red anodized aluminum (AA) jump rings. Row 9 of the hat uses 9 20g 7/64” red AA jump rings. Row 10 of the hat uses 10 20g 7/64” silver AA jump rings. The pom-pom at the top of the hat is a 3-ring mobius using 20g 7/64” silver AA jump rings. Santa’s Face (for all 5 designs) is an 18g (SWG) 3/8” BA jump ring. To attach the hat to the face, weave the face ring through the jump rings of row 10 (silver jump rings).
