Uniform Expectations Sep 2015.Pdf Uniform expectations. At the start of our autumn term, children are expected to wear their summer uniform, up until half term. After this, we transition to winter uniform. Children stay in their winter uniform until the start of the summer term (after Easter). Formal uniforms are to be worn on non-sports days. All children from Pre – Nursery to Year 3, need to wear their hat or boater whenever they are in their formal uniform. Blazers are to be worn by all children whenever in their formal uniform. All school items must be clearly labelled, with the child’s full name. Chelsea Ballet School supplies all the boy and girl ballet items, for Early Years children, up to Year 3. http://www.chelseaballet.com/index.php/shop-schools/category/gems-hampshire-school Sports attire: Shoes: Plain white trainers * Traditional black school shoes to be worn with formal White socks uniform* School tracksuit Black shorts (Velcro fasteners, until able to do laces independently) School polo shirt Skort for girls (Yr 3 upwards) White, sturdy sports trainers to be worn with sports Rugby shirt for boys (Yr 1 upwards) uniform Swimming attire: Black plimsolls for boys, to wear at dance and ballet (Early School swimming trunks for boys Years – Year 3) School swimming costumes for girls Pink ballet pumps for girls to wear at dance Swimming cap and ballet (Early Years – Year 3) Swimming goggles * Towel * If children are needing to wear wellington boots due to the weather, they need to be bottle green.* Additional items: (school items, to be worn weather Jewellery: dependant. None school items may not be worn.) No jewellery items are permitted. Girls may only wear Waterproof mackintosh simple, round studs if ears are pierced. Gloves Scarf Watches are only to be worn by children in Phase 3 and Fleece hat upwards. Sun hat Art apron (leave at school) Only school issued badges may be worn on clothing. Hair: Toys: Girls: No toys may be bought into school. This includes cuddly If hair is longer than shoulder length, it must be tied back toys, key chains on bags, playing cards etc. On occasion, neatly, using school bottle green / red hairbands / clips. Sources said Tuesday that Saks Inc., which is based in Birmingham, Ala., is attempting to line up buyers for its 235- unit department store group, with Belk Inc. as a primary suitor. [email protected] Abstract This study highlights a number of different aspects regarding uniforms and dress codes in the United Kingdom (UK) and Sweden. The study comprises three parts: a quantitative comparison of GCSE pass rates for schools in the UK that do and do not have school uniforms, a qualitative survey study of Scottish High School pupils' perceptions about their uniform and a qualitative interview study of Swedish teachers, administrators and pupils about their school dress, rules regarding school dress and school uniforms. Regarding whether uniforms improved academic results by comparing GCSE pass rates in the UK we were unable to find conclusive evidence to suggest that schools which had uniform policies performed significantly better than other schools. Regarding Scottish pupils’ perceptions of their uniforms, pupils from lower-educated backgrounds were more likely to perceive that they were told off by teachers about not wearing the correct dress. When asked whether pupils felt more equal compared to their peers, those from lower-educated background were more likely to think that uniforms do not help to level out class difference compared to pupils from better educated backgrounds. Regarding bullying, even though uniforms existed at the school studied bullying due to what pupils wore to school still existed and pupils perceived that bullying due to other factors such as physical appearance also occurred.

    2 February 2018 From the Principal’s Desk Kia ora Welcome to Menzies College 2018. This is the first newsletter for the school year and from now on will be printed fortnightly. On Wednesday morning we welcomed 67 new students and five new staff into the school with a wonderful Powhiri. It was so heartening to again, feel the spirit of the school as our other students made everyone welcome and ensured new students comfortably found their way around their new environment. The school starts the year with a roll of 323 which is a very pleasing number and a slight increase on last year but a lot more than six years ago. Thank you to the parents/caregivers that also attended on Wednesday. We look forward to working with all new parents in our community to make the best possible gains with your child. We are still finalising student and staff timetables and problem clashes will iron themselves out in the next week. An early indication of NCEA results show we are on par with expectations. The difference this year is the high quality of the results from those who passed. Our students gained 133 subject endorsements last year and 37 overall NCEA Level Endorsements, almost twice as many as the year before which at that time had been our best. We are really pleased that students value the importance of endorsements and the benefits they bring when looking for employment or tertiary study opportunities. We will host our GF Walker Awards next Friday 9 February from 2.20pm in the hall to celebrate the success of these students and also present House and Committee Leaders with their badges.

    Updated Fall 2020 APPEARANCE AND UNIFORM POLICY Our school uniform policy encourages students to focus on grooming that presents a positive image of our young people and our school. Neatness, cleanliness, and appropriateness in dress and appearance are conducive to an academic atmosphere and will be expected of all Gesu students at all times. While dressed in the Gesu School uniform at school and in public places, all students’ conduct, actions, and language will be consistent with the philosophy and values of Gesu Catholic School. Faculty and administration reserve the right to determine if a student is dressed in a manner consistent with the Gesu School uniform policy. Students found to be in violation of the uniform policy may be asked to correct their attire or call home for proper clothing. This may result in a loss of class time and/or possible disciplinary action. The administration reserves the right to revise, assess, and review this policy at any time. Apparel: ● Hair is to be well groomed and combed. Haircuts for boys should be above their ears, eyebrows, and collars. Highlighting or dyeing of hair for either boys or girls is not permitted. ● Gesu School permits students (boys and girls) to wear only sweatshirts purchased from Schoolbelles, in red, navy, and hunter green or the navy quarter zip Gesu sweatshirt (available online at the Gesu Spiritwear Web Store).     LOWER SCHOOL DRESS CODE (GRADES 1-5) Parents should purchase School apparel from Lands’ End. Please call 1.800.963.4816 or purchase online at www.landsend.com/school. Dwight School’s preferred school number is #9000-8856-8. BOYS Trousers: Khaki or navy tailored trousers. Cotton, wool, and corduroy are all permitted. Bermuda length shorts may be worn when temperatures exceed 75 degrees Fahrenheit (it is not required that trousers be purchased from Lands’ End).
