It will provide clear and credible choices for transforming the future of local healthcare. A new, innovative leadership model for clinical directorates is now in place to drive the changes necessary in health and social care across the whole system. -

One of the most gratifying pieces of news to have been published over the past two months involving the University of Dundee was the Times Higher Education Survey of Student Experience which came out in mid-February. According to the opinions of our students, we are ranked the fifth best institution in the UK and the top University in Scotland in terms of the quality of our student experience; a measure which includes an assessment of the subject matters.......13 teaching quality, the structure of provision, welfare support as well as social factors such as the Students’ Association and sports facilities. Whilst one should always be cautious about the weight one gives to opinion polls and league tables of this kind, Dundee has nevertheless performed consistently well in this type of survey over recent years. It is my view that this Dundee best student experience in Scotland underscores the value we place on making sure our students are at the heart of our institution, but more importantly shows that our students think so, too. Specialty Training Registrar in Orthodontics Dundee Dental Hospital and School / Perth Royal Infirmary Job Profile Speccom/recruit/jobdesc SPECIALTY TRAINING REGISTRAR IN ORTHODONTICS JOB PROFILE A specialty training registrar (StR) post in Orthodontics is available commencing 4 September 2019. The post is for 5 years as follows and is based at Dundee Dental Hospital & School (8 sessions) with 2 sessions at Perth Royal Infirmary. It may be possible to rotate to another district general hospital in the final two years of the programme and therefore the provisional timetable shown below will be subject to revision. The postholder will simultaneously undertake an MDSc / PhD project at the University of Dundee. Dundee Dental Hospital & School Dundee Dental Hospital & School is situated on the University campus and close to the city centre. There are five clinical floors consisting of open clinics and closed surgeries with approximately 100 dental chairs. The hospital is linked to the Dundee Dental Education Centre, which includes a Postgraduate Centre, a 38-place clinical skills laboratory and various office accommodation. The Orthodontic Department is situated on the fifth floor (12 dental chairs), which is shared with Paediatric Dentistry (8 dental chairs) along with a dedicated reception area and clinic office. There is a core of experienced dental nurses with several having completed the NES Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing. The Orthodontic Laboratory has five technicians providing an unprecedented level of service. Dental Hygienist / Therapist support is available for several sessions and a Medical Photographer records all the clinical images on a digital system. Administrative support is provided by a dedicated team.
