SIGMA GAMMA RHO HOSTS A GOLDEN AFFAIR Benefitting St. Jude and Honoring Sorority’s National President

Cary, NC November 19 – Members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in Chicago are hosting a reception and fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They will also honor Mrs. Bonita M. Herring, the recently re-elected International President of the sorority. The reception, A Golden Affair, will be held on Sunday, November 30 from 3 -7 p.m. at the Legacy (11901 South Loomis) in Chicago.

The event is being called A Golden Affair to highlight the sorority’s focus on embracing golden opportunities for the sisterhood. It is also an opportunity to raise money for one of Sigma Gamma Rho’s national partners, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Children and their families never have to pay for treatment, food, lodging or transportation during their stay at the hospital.

Donations to A Golden Affair are $75. If you are unable to attend, you can still support the cause. Any amount is appreciated. All proceeds benefit St. Jude. Donations and ticket purchases can be made here.

Presidents of the National Pan-Hellenic Council ( Sorority, Inc., Sorority, Inc., Sorority, Inc., Alpha Fraternity, Inc., , Fraternity, Inc., Fraternity, Inc., Fraternity, Inc. and , Fraternity, Inc.) and their local representatives are invited to attend and help celebrate this occasion. Celebrated local Chicagoans President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama are among the invited guests. Other invited notables include Representative Robin Kelly (D-IL 2nd District), United States Representative (D-IL 1st District),Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, HIV/AIDS activist Hydeia Broadbent, singer Martha Reeves, rapper/philanthropist MC Lyte and actor Harry Lennix.
