Premessa La Pineta di Cervia è stata individuata come SIC per la prima volta con la D.G.R. n. 2042 del 21 novembre 2000, in cui la Regione Emilia-Romagna si esprime una prima volta in merito all'elenco di SIC proposti (pSIC) dal Ministero dell'Ambiente a seguito del progetto Bioitaly (cfr. D.M. del 3.4.2000). Questo atto regionale è stato poi recepito in maniera definitiva con la Decisione della Commissione UE n. 2004/798/CE. Successivamente il sito è stato definitivamente designato SIC attraverso il Decreto Ministeriale “Elenco dei Siti di Importanza Comunitaria (SIC), per la regione biogeografica continentale, ai sensi della Direttiva n. 92/43/CEE”, emanato dal Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio in data 2.8.10, nonché tramite la Decisione con la quale la Commissione Europea in data 10.1.11 ha approvato l’Elenco dei Siti di Importanza Comunitaria per la regione biogeografica continentale, ai sensi della Direttiva 92/43/CEE, all’interno della quale ricadono tutti i SIC della regione Emilia-Romagna. Il sito è stato definitivamente designato ZPS attraverso il Decreto Ministeriale “"Elenco delle Zone di Protezione Speciale (ZPS), classificate ai sensi della direttiva 79/409/CEE", emanato dal Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio in data 05.07.2007. Il quadro conoscitivo è stato redatto sulla base, oltre che degli studi di caratterizzazione ambientale condotti, anche dell’analisi socio-economica e storica del territorio indagato, e si conclude con la descrizione degli habitat e delle specie di interesse conservazionistico per l’area in esame individuati come oggetto della conservazione. Gli obiettivi e le strategie gestionali sono definiti sulla base dei risultati derivanti dal quadro conoscitivo. 2. Introduzione al sito La Pineta di Cervia è il lembo relitto più meridionale, ridotto e in parte degradato, della grande e storica pineta a pino domestico (Pinus pinea) che un tempo si estendeva ininterrottamente a Nord e a Sud della città di Ravenna. Introdotta su vasta scala dall’epoca tardo romana a quella napoleonica su antichi cordoni dunali, la pineta costiera ha subìto negli ultimi due secoli drastiche riduzioni e manomissioni. La Pineta di Cervia, che si estende su 194 ha, è oggi stretta tra il centro turistico di Milano Marittima sul lato a mare e coltivi o spazi ricreativi sul lato a monte fino al Canale immissario delle vicine Saline di Cervia, a Sud del quale la pineta è chiusa tra l’abitato e la ferrovia. Il sito comprende anche un prolungamento verso il mare nell’area dell’ex colonia Varese e, al di là dalla ferrovia, il Parco delle Terme gestito a verde urbano. Il sito risulta in massima parte incluso nella stazione “Pineta di Classe e Salina di Cervia” del Parco Regionale Delta del Po ed è per metà sottoposto a vincolo idrogeologico. Le ridotte dimensioni e la contiguità con aree fortemente urbanizzate, in una delle zone più turistiche della regione, determinano una elevatissima pressione antropica sul sito. 3 RETE NATURA 2000 – SIC IT4070008 PINETA DI CERVIA – QUADRO CONOSCITIVO FIGURA 1 - INQUADRAMENTO TERRITORIALE DEL SITO (FONTE: WWW.ERMESAMBIENTE.IT). 4 RETE NATURA 2000 – SIC IT4070008 PINETA DI CERVIA – QUADRO CONOSCITIVO 3. Descrizione fisica 3.1 Collocazione e confini del sito Il SIC “Pineta di Cervia” IT4070008 è collocato nel Comune di Cervia. Si sviluppa dalla linea di costa (piccolo tratto dell’area di Colonia Varese) lungo l’area della Pineta di Cervia dietro l’abitato di Milano Marittima. Il SIC IT4070008 ha una estensione di circa 194 ha e fa parte della regione bio-geografica continentale. L’area del SIC rappresenta il lembo meridionale residuo, la più piccola e degradata delle tre rimaste, dell'antica pineta ravennate a Pinus pinea. Stretta dal centro turistico di Cervia-Milano Marittima e in parte trasformata in parco cittadino. For the first time the carabid fauna of the area of Cape Emine (the middle of the Bulgarian Black sea coast) was studied. Over the period 2010 – 2012 adult carabid beetles were collected. Investigations were performed at 13 sampling sites and pitfall traps were used. During the study a total of 12618 specimens were captured. They belonged to 134 species, classified into 46 genera, 18 tribes, and 3 subfamilies. Dyschirius rufipes Dejean, 1825 and Laemostenus janthinus (Duftschmid, 1812) were reported as new species for the carabid fauna of Bulgaria. Three species were new for the fauna of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Fifty-four species were defined as new for the area of Cape Emine. Two endemics were found: Pterostichus merkli Frivaldszky, 1879 (Bulgarian endemic) and Cychrus semigranosus balcanicus Hopffgarten, 1881 (Balkan endemic). Species of ground beetles were characterized and classified according to their zoogeographical belonging, degree of endemism and rarity, habitat and humidity preferences; the life forms they refer to were determined.

Vabalai“ (Pileckis & Monsevičius, 1995, 1997). This monograph presents the list of more then 2850 Coleoptera species. However, the latest records (Barševskis, 2001; Ferenca, 2003, 2004; Ferenca et al., 2002, 2006, 2007; Inokaitis, 2004; Monsevičius & Pankevičius, 2001; Šablevičius, 2003, 2004; Šablevičius & Ferenca, 1995; Tamutis, 1996, 2001a, 2001b, 2003, 2004; Tamutis & Ferenca, 2006) contain information on more than 450 species of Lithuanian Coleoptera. This paper presents information on 24 new Coleoptera species for Lithuania. Two species (Chlaenius spoliatus and Harpalus melancholicus) should be removed from the list of Lithuanian Coleoptera, as misidentified. Material and Methods The present data based on the material collected by the authors of this report during field research. Some of the material was deposited in the collection of Kaunas T. Ivanauskas Zoological Museum and personal collections of Lithuanian coleopterologists. The biggest part of species was collected by the authors: Vytautas Tamutis (V. T.), Romas Ferenca (R. A new species Aptinus hovorkai sp. n. from central Turkey is described, illustrated and compared with other Turkish species from the genus Aptinus Bonelli, 1810, i.e. A. cordicollis Chaudoir, 1843 and A. creticus Pic, 1903. A. cordicollis was also reported from Bulgaria and A. creticus from Greece, the isle of Crete. INTRODUCTION The genus Aptinus Bonelli, 1810 is represented by nine species in the western part of the Palaearctic region, exactly in the northern part of the Mediterranean subregion. The genus was divided in two subgenera, Aptinus s. str. and monotypical Aptinidius Jeannel, 1942 with the species A. displosor (Dufour, 1812). The latter subgenus was synonymized with the Aptinus s. str. by Erwin, 1970 in his reclassification of the subfamily Brachininae (given as division Brachinida). Casale & Vigna Taglianti, 1983 revised genus Aptinus and Hůrka, 1988 revised the East Mediterranean species. Hrdlička, 2003 published recent distribution of the genus Aptinus. The group of species (A. bombarda (Illiger, 1800), A. acutangulus Chaudoir, 1876, A. merditanus Apfelbeck, 1918, A. cordicollis Chaudoir, 1843 and A. creticus Pic, 1903), that also includes the recently described species, is very difficult to identify on the basis of its habitus. In addition, any quotation or extract must include full attribution. 1 Molecular Phylogenetics of the Superfamily Curculionoidea (Insecta: Coleoptera) Conrad Paulus Dias Trafford Gillett March 2014 Thesis abstract This thesis examines higher-level evolutionary history within the superfamily Curculionoidea, the most speciose family-level taxon, which includes beetles commonly known as weevils. This is achieved using a phylogenetic approach incorporating the largest datamatrix yet employed for weevil molecular systematics, and includes an investigation into the prospect of obtaining short phylogenetically informative amplicons from archival museum specimens. Newly obtained DNA sequence data is analysed from a variety of mitochondrial and nuclear loci, including 92 mitogenomes assembled through the approach of next-generation sequencing of pooled genomic DNA. The resulting trees are used to test previous morphological- and molecular-based hypotheses of weevil relationships and classification schemes. Mitogenomic-derived trees reveal topologies that are highly congruent with previous molecular studies, but that conflict with some morphological hypotheses. Strong nodal support strengthens inferences into the relationships amongst most weevil families and suggests that the largest family, the Curculionidae, is monophyletic, if the subfamily Platypodinae is excluded.

At the same time, there are numerous cases of almost unrealistically high catches of ground beetles in seemingly unsuitable sites. The correlation of catches by pitfall trapping with the true distribution and abundance of Carabidae needs corroboration. During a full year survey in 2006/07 in the Lake Elton region (Volgograd Area, Rus- sia), 175 species of ground beetles were trapped. Considering the differences in demographic structure of the local populations, and not their abundances, three groups of species were recognized: residents, migrants and sporadic. In residents, the demographic structure of local populations is complete, and their habitats can be considered “residential”. In migrants and sporadic species, the demographic structure of the local populations is incomplete, and their habitats can be considered “transit”.

Presented paper is a proposal of a classification of the carabid beetles occurring in Poland to the following zoogeographical elements: Holarctic, Palaearctic, Euroarctic, Euro-Siberian, Euro-Central Asiatic, Euro-Mediterranean and element of the European Forest Province. Biogeography as a science dealing with the problem of distribution of organism communities has developed over last three decades. It is an integration of both animal and plant geography into a unified special branch. This junction seems to be especially reasonable since, so far, any consideration about particu­ lar distribution of animals resulted with an observation of their dependence on the specific vegetation. Recently biogeography has been developing in mamy countries, particularly in the Soviet Union and the USA with both theoretical and utilitarian aspects. The following ends were put to be fulfilled by this knowledge (Teoret. i prikl. aspekty biogeografii, 1982): — explanation of performance and energy balances of ecosystems, — bioindication of elements of landscape (among others for the classifica­ tion purposes), — forecasting of trends in community transformations influenced by na­ tural and anthropogenic factors. According to O b m iń s k i (1974) zoocenosis is a formation which does not exist independently. It is only a “formal unit” built up by researchers, being in fact an integrated part of biocenosis.
