Welcome to the Tugboat Inn and Restaurant, a member of the Lafayette Family of hotels. Our property consists of five buildings, each with a history of its’ own. The Main Inn Building (which was demolished and rebuilt in 1994) was the original site of the Boothbay Boatel and more recently the Clipper Inn. The Wharf Building was once home to the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, the Tugboat Building was once Marine Service, and the Red Building was Sawyer’s Chandlery and later housed two small shops. Our inn features deluxe guestrooms with water views, balconies and all the modern amenities. We are just a short walk to the center of town where shops, restaurants, boating and fishing activities and sightseeing are plentiful. In addition, we have our own marina with slip and mooring rentals, as well as 2 sport fishing which depart daily from our own docks.

In 1983 the restaurant SINCE 1816 B EST 1816 was converted to guestrooms andE a lounge, and a new dining room was built out of the side of E the tugboat to becomeS the restaurantS as it exists today. The Tugboat restaurant features the T I freshest of Maine seafood, C R includingU Maine lobster and other signature seafood items, such as our famous lobster bisque, seafood newburg and seafood fettucini.
