For conspicuous gallantry on 25th September, 1915, during the attack at Maroc and Loos. Although severely wounded early in the day, he remained in the German second line trench reorganising and encouraging the men till the consolidation was well advanced. General Notes: Arthur Percival Hamilton, was commissioned into the Queen's West Surrey Regiment and while a Captain serving as Adjutant of the 18th Battalion London Regiment (London Irish Rifles) TF was awarded the for gallantry during the battle of Loos on the 25th of September, 1915. On the 15th of September, 1916, then a Lieutenant- serving with the 19th Battalion, Arthur Percival Hamilton was killed in action at High Wood, The Somme, while leading an attack
