Vandavasi became the Taluk of Thiruvannamalai District when the Thiruvannamalai District was formed erstwhile North Arcot District on 30th September 1989. Vandavasi is located at 12.5o North Latitude and 79.62o East Longitude. It lies 110 kms South-West of Chennai City, 40 kms South of famous temple City Kanchipuram and 80 kms North-East of Thiruvannamalai. Vandavasi is well connected with Chennai by road. Nearest Railway Station is located at Thiruvannamalai and nearest Airport is located at Chennai. This study endeavor to highlight the historical monuments of Vandavasi Taluk as well as points out the Political and Cultural developments of the Taluk under various rulers. The required data thus composed and critically analysed about the historical backgrounds of Vandavasi Taluk. Key Word: Vandavasi, Wandiwash, North Arcot, Thiruvannamalai Introduction: Damarla Chennapa Nayaka, the Poligar (A tributary of Vijayanagar Emperor Venkatapathi Raya) of Kalahasti and Wandiwash granted permission to the British East India Company to build a factory and warehouse for their trading enterprises in 1640. Vandavasi Taluk is one of the identified Clusters of micro and small enterprise of Korai mat and Handloom. It is also one of the Taluk headquarters in Thiruvannamalai District having Handloom weaving JETIR2012122 Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research (JETIR) www.jetir.org 935 © 2020 JETIR December 2020, Volume 7, Issue 12 www.jetir.org (ISSN-2349-5162) hereditarily.

TIRUVANNAMALI DISTRICT MAP Page No: 3 3.HISTORY OF TIRUVANNAMALI Tiruvannamali is an ancient temple town in TamilNadu with a unique historical back ground. It is one of the holy town that finds a place in the poems written by reputed Tamil saivaite poets.(padal petra sthalam). Several important facts are found in the stone inscriptions in the walls of temple prakarams. Also many details were available through inscriptions found on the copper plates. The four great Tamil saivaite poets Sambandar, Sundarar, Appar and Manickavasagar have written about the history of Tiruvannamali in their literary work that stands unparalleled. They are Thevaram and Thiruvasagam. Arunagirinathat has also written beautifully about the history of Thriuvannamalai and this Lord Arunachalaeswarar temple. The ancient kings starting from the Chola Dynasty period read from the Tamil works and started reposing more faith on Lord Arunachalaeswar. They started contributing their share by constructing many Gopuram, mandapams, and shrines.

www.nature.com/scientificreports OPEN Remarkable thermal conductivity enhancement in Ag—decorated graphene nanocomposites based nanofuid by laser liquid solid interaction in ethylene glycol M. C. Mbambo1,2*, S. Khamlich1,2, T. Khamliche1,2, M. K. Moodley3, K. Kaviyarasu1,2*, I. G. Madiba1,2, M. J. Madito2, M. Khenfouch1,2, J. Kennedy1,2,4, M. Henini1,2,5, E. Manikandan1,2,6 & M. Maaza1,2* We report on the synthesis and enhanced thermal conductivity of stable Ag-decorated 2-D graphene nanocomposite in ethylene glycol based nanofuid by laser liquid solid interaction. A surfactant free nanofuid of Ag nanoparticles anchored onto the 2-D graphene sheets were synthesized using a two-step laser liquid solid interaction approach. In order to understand a pulsed Nd:YAG laser at the fundamental frequency (λ = 1,064 nm) to ablate Ag and graphite composite target submerged in ethylene glycol (EG) to form AgNPs decorated 2-D GNs-EG based nanofuid. From a heat transfer point of view, it was observed that the thermal conductivity of this stable Ag-graphene/EG is signifcantly enhanced by a factor of about 32.3%; this is highest reported value for a graphene based nanofuid. Following the discovery of graphene by Geim and Novoselov 1, the feld of graphene related science ushered new areas of science and potential technologies and several studies were carried out on diferent aspects of these peculiar 2-D carbon nanostructures. Graphene is a fat monolayer of carbon atoms or a thin layer of pure carbon tightly packed into two-dimensional (2D) honeycomb lattice. Early investigations of graphene demonstrated that this material exhibits extraordinary physical and chemical properties such as signifcantly higher values of thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, high room temperature carrier mobility and lateral quantum confnement amongst others.
