Cardiff Cycleway 3.1 Public Consultation

Cardiff Council have secured Welsh Government funding to develop plans for a cycle route connecting Cardiff Bay to the City Centre. We are now undertaking public consultation on the first phase of this cycle route, which will improve the existing cycle facilities on Lloyd George Avenue. This consultation pack contains the following:

• Plans showing the proposed changes to Lloyd George Avenue • Artists impression of the proposed changes on Lloyd George Avenue Cycleway 3: City Centre to Cardiff Bay

Cycleway 3 will provide a route from the city centre to Cardiff Bay. Destinations served by Cycleway 3 will include:

• City Centre • University of South Wales • Capital Quarter • Cardiff Bay Rail Station • Wales Millennium Centre Cycleway 3.1: Lloyd George Avenue This scheme will include safety improvements for pedestrians and cyclists at the Letton Road junction with Lloyd George Avenue, improving the route to St Cuthbert’s Primary School. The proposals include:

• Relocation of the existing cycle track away from residential buildings on Lloyd George Avenue • Removal of signal controls at the following junctions: o Vellacott Close o Letton Road o Magretion Place o Glanhowny Close o Ffordd Garthorne • Provision of tabled parallel cycle/zebra crossings at the following locations: o Vellacott Close o Letton Road o Lloyd George Avenue to the south of Letton Road o Magretion Place o Glanhowny Close o Ffordd Garthorne • Provision of tabled zebra crossings at the following locations: o Lloyd George Avenue to the south of Vellacott Close o Lloyd George Avenue to the south of Magretion Place o Lloyd George Avenue to the south of Glanhowny Close o Lloyd George Avenue to the south of Ffordd Garthorne Consultation Events A drop in session will be held where you can discuss the proposals:
