An event benefitting the AP World Organization th SEPTEMBER 11 , 2021 PerformingBOB JAMES Artists PIECES OF A DREAM GERALD ALBRIGHT JAZZ FUNK SOUL MARION MEADOWS ALEX BUGNON JEFF BRADSHAW AND FRIENDS 114 S. New York Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey AP WORLD An 501c-3, tax deductible organization built on the legacy of a beloved son, doing our part to strengthen families and inspire communities during difficult times. Professional basketball player, DeAndre’ Bembry of the Toronto Raptors, launched AP World in memory of his brother, Adrian Potts. Adrian celebrated his brothers’ accomplishments and planned to be sitting alongside DeAndre’ to watch the NBA draft on June 23, 2016. Adrian helped plan the draft party with their mother, Essence. Essence dedicated her life to helping her sons achieve success and was devastated when she received the dreaded phone call no parent ever wants to hear. In the early morning of June 11, 2016 literally days before the much-anticipated draft, Essence received the tragic news from Adrian’s father. Her 20-year-old, ambitious, fun-loving and tenacious son, was shot and killed near the University of North Carolina, Charlotte campus. This tragedy had a shocking and paralyzing effect on the Bembry family. Knowing where to find support and assistance while planning a funeral service, dealing with unimaginable grief and the reality of life without a son, brother and best friend, were overwhelming for Essence and DeAndre’. This family tragedy served as the catalyst for DeAndre’ to develop a support system that could be an anchor and a resource hub for other families who may have to take a similar journey through grief. -

ONLINE JAZZ PARTY & FUNDRAISER SPONSOR PACKAGES You’re Invited to Play your Part! The Nashville Jazz Workshop (NJW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching people’s lives through jazz education and performance. For 20 years the NJW has delivered world class performances and music education to Nashville audiences and jazz fans around the country and the world. 2020 has been a challenging year for cultural institutions everywhere as they seek to fulfill their missions and remain financially viable. Fortunately, the internet has enabled the NJW to continue serving audiences and students – over 20,000 people have subscribed to the NJW’s YouTube channel to view live and archived performances and hundreds have enrolled in virtual classes since social distancing restrictions began in March. Jazzmania is the NJW’s annual jazz party and fundraiser. As a live event it has been “the jazz party of the year” and one of the city’s most engaging and fun charity events. As with other charity events, the event is moving online this year as a virtual event. On October 24, 2020 the Workshop will host Jazzmania as an online jazz party and evening of world class jazz performances. We will share our love of jazz, celebrate the Workshop’s 20th anniversary and ask our devoted fans to open their hearts and wallets to support the Workshop. The streaming event will also be targeted to a global audience, to build awareness of the NJW and engagement with jazz fans around the world. Proceeds from the event will support the NJW’s Music Education, Performance Series and Community Outreach. -

Das Sextett: Manu Katche: drums, vocals; Ellen Andrea Wang: upright bass, vocals; Jim (James) Watson: acoustic piano, keyboards; Tore Brunborg: saxophones; Luca Aquino: trumpet; Nils Landgren: trombone (1, 2, 7, 11);Abraham Rodriguez Mansfarroll: percussion (1);Joel Hierrezuelo Balart: percussion (1); Inor Esteban Sotolongo: percussion (1). -
