Indeed most grapes for Prosecco are grown just north of Venice around the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.The Glera grape has a natural, clean and fresh acidity, making it ideal for sparkling wine. In 1967, its wines, among the first in Italy, NV Champagne Brut Grande Res Laforge-Testa France £ 48.00 Champagne is just so evocative of good taste and there are plenty of small family Champagne houses making excellent wine such as Laforge-Testa. A lovely elegant yeasty, biscuit nose that so typifies good Champagne. On the palate it is soft and rounded with just a touch of earthiness and a good length. 2012 Bollinger brut France £ 78.00 A golden colour, distinctive of black grape varieties ; very fine bubbles. A beautiful aromatic Asubtle combination of structure, length and vivacity ; bubbles like velvet ; pear, brioche and spicy aromas, notes of fresh walnut. 2004 Dom Perignon France £ 220.00 It is named after Dom Perignon, a benedictine monk who was an important quality pioneer for Champagne wine. 2004 has been an excellent vintage. NV Krug Grande Cuvee France £ 270.00 Krug Champagne is a Champagne house founded by Joseph Krug in 1843. It is based principally in Reims, the main city in France’s Champagne region and is one of the famous Champagne houses that formed part of the Grande Marques. SPARKLING WINE & CHAMPAGNE ROSE NV Champagne Brut Rose Laforge-Testa France £ 53.50 Pink champagne is the epitome of liveliness and frivolity, although in fact the taste is always more substantial. A good freshness, aromas of green apples and limes, on the nose with honeysuckle and lightly honeyed notes on the palate. 2015 Grillo, Sibiliana,Terre Siciliane, I.G.P. Sicilia £ 18.50 It is an indigeneous grape native from the central part of Sicily.A fresh, crispy easy drink wine with a nice almondy aftertaste. A delicious, lively and gently aromatic nose is matched by a fuller, mineral and citrus flavour on the lengthy palate. 2015 Pinot Grigio, Indicazione Geografica Tipica Trentino £ 19.00 Pinot grigio frequently called Pinot Gris — "Pinot" means pine cone and "gris" means "grey" in French. Pinot Grigio wines tend to have deeper colors than other white wines. It iis Pinot Grigio flavors and aromas include fruit rinds, orange peel, and pear skins. A fresh, crispy easy drink wine. 2015 Alasia, Cortese del Piemonte Piemonte £19.75 Alasia Piemonte Cortese - Fresh, primary fruit aromas of green apples, ripe grapefruit and lime cordial on the nose with honeysuckle and lightly honeyed notes on the palate. The finish is fresh and crisp with citrus flavours and mineral touches. 2013 Vermentino di Sardegna Aragosta Sardegna £ 21.50 This is top of the tree Sardinian Vermentino with a bit extra. Since then Santa Cristina has been a byword for quality and value in Tuscany – now more so than ever since the creation of a dedicated winery in 2006. Umbria £ 25.50 Honey coloured, bright with warm, golden highlights Bouquet: intense, extensive notes of golden apple and tropical fruit combined with a ' wrap-around mineralogy. Taste:. well- measured in acid tones , closing with an agreeable flavor . Full and persistent aftertaste . Appropriate foods: ideal with starters and fish based dishes, cheese or cured meats. Excellent with boiled meat, pit-aged cheese ‘di Fossa’ and chocolate, recommended with all Mediterranean dishes. 2015 Lugana, Catulliano Pratello D.O.P. Veneto £ 27.50 The Pratello estate occupies a favourable spot on a hillside overlooking Lake Garda. The owners, the Bertola family, have planted the most suitable sixty-six of the 140 hectares with vines; the rest of the land is given over to foresOpen and expressive on the nose, with notes of citrus, apple and herbs.
