WILLIN: THE STORY OF LITTLE FEAT PDF, EPUB, EBOOK Ben Fong-Torres | 296 pages | 12 Nov 2013 | The Perseus Books Group | 9780306821318 | English | Cambridge, MA, United States Willin: The Story of Little Feat PDF Book He gets it in dribs and drabs here, and, artistry aside, we finally get a better picture of what '70s rock fans might consider one of that decade's more enviable love lives. Nov 10, Sally Anne rated it it was ok. As time progressed George became increasingly autocratic even locking other members out of the studio as he insisted on producing albums by himself. Preview — Willin' by Ben Fong-Torres. I am a "Feat Head" as it turns out. Apr 19, Doug rated it really liked it. Little Feat's "Waiting for Columbus" is widely regarded as one of the best live albums of all time. I am being generous, only because I did learn some things about Little Feat. As grateful as I was to get some information on this decades-long, brilliant band, this has to be one of the worst written bios I've ever read. Seven shows were recorded and the resulting Waiting For Columbus , produced by George, was released in March Average rating 3. Weather Report? They couldn't ask for a better apologist than a writer whose byline is instantly familiar to anyone who read Rolling Stone in its pre-disco heyday and whose graceful way of telling a story is undiminished. Ben Fong- Torres' new biography of the band, "Willin'," makes you wish there had been a filmmaker on hand to shoot that particular run of shows in , too, since his account of the group falling apart makes it sound like a documentary could have been a "This is Spinal Tap" before its time.

March 2007 Newsletter ----------------------------------- Yesterday & Today Records 255A Church St Parramatta NSW 2150 phone/fax: (02) 96333585 email: [email protected] web: www.yesterdayandtoday.com.au ------------------------------------------------------ Postage: 1 cd $2.00/ 2cd $3/ 3-4 cds $5.80* (*Recent Australia Post price increase.) Guess what? We have just celebrated our 18th anniversary. Those who try things we recommend are rewarded. We have stayed in business for one reason and that is we have never attempted to appeal to the lowest common denominator as mainstream outlets do. At the same time we recognise that people do have different tastes and to some CMT is actually good. We also appeal to those people and offer many mainstream items in our bargain bin. But the legends and true country music are our bread butter and will always be. If you see something you think you may like but are worried let us know. If you pass our inquisition we may be able to send it on a sale or return basis. I say inquisition because if your favourite artists are SheDaisy and Rascal Flatts we certainly aren’t going to risk something as precious as Justin Trevino. By the same token we believe great music is timeless and knows no bounds. People may think chuck steak is good until they try the best rump! Recently I had the pleasure of seeing Dale Watson. Before hand I had the added pleasure of sitting in with my compatriot Eddie White (a.k.a. “The Cosmic Cowboy”) for an interview at the 2RRR Studios. Dale is a humble, engaging and extremely likeable man with a passion for tradition.

RED HOUSE RECORDS Publicity Contact: Ellen Stanley • [email protected] • (651) 644-4161 HOT TUNA Steady As She Goes RHR-CD-241 • Release Date: April 5, 2011 RHR-LP-241 • Release Date: May, 2011 Iconic roots rockers return with their first new studio album in 20 years! Red House Records is pleased to announce the April 5, 2011 release of Steady As She Goes, the first new album in twenty years from the legendary Hot Tuna. Featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Famers and Jefferson Airplane founding members Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen, the band celebrates over four decades of playing together. Now, with the release of their Red House debut, they prove that they remain one of the most innovative bands in American music. Why did it take so long for Hot Tuna to record a new album? “Well, it just worked out that way,” Kaukonen says. “Hot Tuna never quit playing. The moment just wasn’t right before; now it is, and we have a great project to show for it.” Returning to upstate New York decades after Kaukonen and Casady first played Woodstock, they went into Levon Helm’s studio over the winter to record twelve new tracks with mandolin player Barry Mitterhoff and drummer Skoota Warner (Cyndi Lauper, Matisyahu, Santana). Working with famed producer Larry Campbell (who Kaukonen worked with on his last solo album River of Time) the band plugged in for the electric Hot Tuna album that fans have been waiting for. Taking no prisoners, the band tears into it, kicking off with the rocking Americana number “Angel of Darkness” (co- written by Kaukonen and Campbell).

  • Get 'Em out by Friday the Official Release Dates 1968-78 Introduction
Genesis: Get ‘Em Out By Friday The Official Release Dates 1968-78 Introduction Depending on where one looks for the information, the original release dates of Genesis singles and albums are often misreported. This article uses several sources, including music paper cuttings, websites and books, to try and determine the most likely release date in the UK for their officially released product issued between 1968 and 1978. For a detailed analysis to be completed beyond 1978 will require the input of others that know that era far better than I with the resources to examine it in appropriate levels of detail. My own collection of source material essentially runs dry after 1978. As most people searching for release dates are likely to go to Wikipedia that is where this search for the truth behind Genesis’ back catalogie. The dates claimed on Wikipedia would themselves have come from a number of sources referenced by contributors over the years but what these references lack is the evidence to back up their claims. This article aims to either confirm or disprove these dates with the added bonus of citing where this information stems from. It’s not without a fair share of assumptions and educated deductions but it offers more on this subject than any previously published piece. The main sources consulted in the writing of this article are as follows: 1. The Genesis File Melody Maker 16 December 1972 2. Genesis Information Newsletter Issue No. 1 October 1976 3. Wax Fax by Barry Lazzell - a series of articles on Genesis releases published in Sounds over several weeks in 1977 4.
