Vaulters Colin and Alisa Schmidt came to the Bay Area on June 18 to practice. Aus- tralian Vaulters Craig Lucas and Peter Schipp, their coach Sarah Venamore also arrived early to renew friendships begun when Devon Maitozo gave them a clinic ‘down under.’ German coach Peter Wagner brought 10 members of his vaulting club and his family, to stay with the Bibbler fam- ily, Woodside and Coast Line families. A VIP Party the eve of the competi- tion at the home of Event President, Jan Garrod, got the ball rolling with entertain- ment, food and, of course, the estate wines of Cooper-Garrod. Coaches, longuers, judges and chefs d’equippe enjoyed a brief respite from the competition venue and got to know some first-time participants.
