Printed in Mexico Program of the 64th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry iii Welcome Address On behalf of ISE’s Executive Committee and Organizing Committee, we warmly welcome you to Mexico and to Querétaro. We look forward to your participation in the 64th Annual Meeting of the ISE, “Electrochemistry for a New Era” from September 8th – 13th, 2013. Querétaro was founded in 1510, and its beautiful historic center is exceptionally well preserved. The historic downtown was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its rich history and unmatchable collection of baroque-style mansions, houses, and churches. Mexico’s independence from Spain began in the heart of downtown Querétaro, where conspirators held clandestine meetings to plan their rebellion. Today, Santiago de Querétaro is entering its own new era. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico. Due to its privileged position in the center of the country and its modern infrastructure and connectivity, many international companies have chosen this city for their operations, resulting in a concentration of new facilities for research, development, and manufacturing in the aeronautic, information technologies, life sciences, automobile, and food and beverage industries. Surrounded by natural and cultural richness, Santiago de Querétaro is one of the most attractive destinations in Mexico for both business and tourism. The world faces many challenges and opportunities—from addressing and adapting to global warming, improving our environment, developing sustainable sources of energy, and improving quality and access to healthcare. In this new era, Electrochemistry plays an important role, applying cutting-edge science to making the world a better place. Through its scientific, education, and communications activities, ISE is a significant contributor to this effort. It is appropriate that this 64th Annual Meeting involves all the scientific divisions of ISE, emphasizing the links between fundamental understanding at the nanoscale and application at the industrial and societal level. We acknowledge the efforts of the Organizing Committee, Symposia Organizers and Executive Committee in creating an excellent scientific program. There will be 14 symposiums, including, for the first time, Education in Electrochemistry. We also appreciate the work of the Mexican electrochemistry community, which has collaborated enthusiastically to make the 64th Annual ISE Meeting both successful and memorable. We welcome all of you, electrochemists and other scientists, and invite you to enjoy our beautiful city, explore this new era of electrochemistry, discuss common challenges, and propose innovative solutions to the problems that face us as we enter this new era. FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2020 THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA It was in 1885 that the Thirteenth Territorial Legislature founded the University of Arizona with an appropriation of $25,000 — but no land. This appropriation was not welcomed by many residents of Tucson and Pima County, as they were looking for either the state Capitol building, a prison, or even an asylum for the insane — but definitely not a university. The money would be available on the condition that the community provided a suitable site. Just before the $25,000 was to be returned to the Legislature, two gamblers and a saloon-keeper donated 40 acres of land “way out east of town,” and thus the University could become a reality. Classes began in 1891 with 32 students and six teachers, all accommodated in one building. The first class graduated in 1895, when three students received their degrees. Today, the University of Arizona is one of the nation's top public universities, according to U.S. News & World Report. It has grown to more than 45,000 students and 15,000 faculty and staff members across the University, which includes the main campus, the College of Applied Science & Technology in Sierra Vista, the College of Medicine – Phoenix and Arizona Online. The University is organized into 21 colleges and 23 schools. It is one of the top 10 employers in Arizona, with an economic impact of more than $1 billion in fiscal year 2017 as a result of the University’s research expenditures. 156th Annual Arizona COMMENCEMENT Table of Contents STREAMED PROGRAM · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·

  • The Languages of the Andes
THE LANGUAGES OF THE ANDES The Andean and Pacific regions of South America are home to a remark- able variety of languages and language families, with a range of typologi- cal differences. This linguistic diversity results from a complex historical background, comprising periods of greater communication between dif- ferent peoples and languages, and periods of fragmentation and individual development. The Languages of the Andes is the first book in English to document in a single volume the indigenous languages spoken and for- merly spoken in this linguistically rich region, as well as in adjacent areas. Grouping the languages into different cultural spheres, it describes their characteristics in terms of language typology, language contact, and the social perspectives of present-day languages. The authors provide both historical and contemporary information, and illustrate the languages with detailed grammatical sketches. Written in a clear and accessible style, this book will be a valuable source for students and scholars of linguistics and anthropology alike. . is Professor of Amerindian Languages and Cul- tures at Leiden University. • Se Perdieron Los Goles En La Copa América De Fútbol
Image not found or type unknown www.juventudrebelde.cu Image not found or type unknown Neymar no pudo marcar contra Venezuela.

ROBBIE DUNNE WORKING CLASS HEROES This book is much more than just a story about a football club. This is a tale of a working class neighbourhood and their relationship to both their team and the outside world and how they co-exist. Rayo Vallecano were founded in 1924 and have recently achieved their highest position in the Spanish football league in their history, but shortly after were brought back down to earth with relegation to the second tier of Spanish football. This is in keeping with the ups and downs of the club. Madrid is a city that is overwhelmed by the existence of Real Madrid RAYO VALLECANO, but in Vallecas, just a short metro ride out of the city centre, MADRID’S FORGOTTEN TEAM Rayo Vallecano are the only team and while they accept their role as Madrid’s third club, they wear their fandom like a THE STORY OF badge of honour. Their fan group pride themselves on being anti-fascist and this is a story of a writer who followed them around for a year while learning everything about the fans, the football team and their chequered past. However, we oppose the proposed amendments reducing the penalties for a tethering violation. We understand the intent of the penalty change is to compel compliance with the new law without imposing a misdemeanor charge. But as the animal service provider for Oahu, we can attest that our humane investigators already use education when possible to modify behavior. Citations are issued and charges are brought only if attempts at education have failed to change illegal behavior and there is documented evidence of harm to one or more animals. In recent years the Legislature has strengthened animal cruelty penalties to recognize the serious nature of these crimes. These amendments would erode those efforts. We do agree that psychological counseling (page 5, line 13 through page6, line 3) may be a useful tool for rehabilitating animal cruelty offenders. We would support the addition of that option to the existing sentencing guidelines for all animal cruelty cases.
