A message from HARLAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Harlan Husky Families, This week seemed to go by fast and these shorter periods of daylight are not helping. I hope that all of the kids transitioned back from the Thanksgiving break easily. I personally found that it was harder for all three of my kids to transition back to school mode from this break. I truly appreciate all of the effort the kids, parents and teachers are making to keep it positive. However, I do think that it is important to acknowledge that this whole situation is difficult, but to remind my kids (and myself) that they can do hard things! Our Huskies sure have proven that they can and I am proud of them! I hope that you all enjoy the weekend! • THE COLLECTED POEMS of HENRIK IBSEN Translated by John Northam
1 THE COLLECTED POEMS OF HENRIK IBSEN Translated by John Northam 2 PREFACE With the exception of a relatively small number of pieces, Ibsen’s copious output as a poet has been little regarded, even in Norway. The English-reading public has been denied access to the whole corpus. That is regrettable, because in it can be traced interesting developments, in style, material and ideas related to the later prose works, and there are several poems, witty, moving, thought provoking, that are attractive in their own right. The earliest poems, written in Grimstad, where Ibsen worked as an assistant to the local apothecary, are what one would expect of a novice. Resignation, Doubt and Hope, Moonlight Voyage on the Sea are, as their titles suggest, exercises in the conventional, introverted melancholy of the unrecognised young poet. Moonlight Mood, To the Star express a yearning for the typically ethereal, unattainable beloved. In The Giant Oak and To Hungary Ibsen exhorts Norway and Hungary to resist the actual and immediate threat of Prussian aggression, but does so in the entirely conventional imagery of the heroic Viking past. From early on, however, signs begin to appear of a more personal and immediate engagement with real life. There is, for instance, a telling juxtaposition of two poems, each of them inspired by a female visitation. It is Over is undeviatingly an exercise in romantic glamour: the poet, wandering by moonlight mid the ruins of a great palace, is visited by the wraith of the noble lady once its occupant; whereupon the ruins are restored to their old splendour.

  • 2021 Breeze Show Choir Catalog
Previously Arranged Titles (updated 2/24/21) Specific details about each arrangement (including audio samples and cost) are available at https://breezetunes.com . The use of any of these arrangements requires a valid custom arrangement license purchased from https://tresonamusic.com . Their licensing fees typically range from $180 to $280 per song and must be paid before you can receive your music. Copyright approval frequently takes 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer, so plan accordingly. If changes to the arrangement are desired, there is an additional fee of $100. Examples of this include re-voicing (such as from SATB to another voice part), rewriting band parts, making cuts, adding an additional verse, etc. **Arrangements may be transposed into a different key free of charge, provided that the change does not make re-voicing necessary** For songs that do not have vocal rehearsal tracks, these can be created for $150/song. To place an order, send an e-mail to [email protected] or submit a license request on Tresona listing Garrett Breeze as the arranger, Tips for success using Previously Arranged Titles: • Most arrangements can be made to work in any voicing, so don’t be afraid to look at titles written for other combinations of voices than what you have. Most SATB songs, for example, can be easily reworked for SAT. • Remember that show function is one of the most important things to consider when purchasing an arrangement. For example, if something is labelled in the catalog as a Song 2/4, it is probably not going to work as a closer.

Review Insights Outlook Business Year 2017 Dear Readers, Gebr. Heinemann experienced healthy and robust growth in 2017. We have held our own very well against our competitors and have been able to capi- talise flexibly on market conditions. This has in turn enabled us to expand on our strong position in Europe. The return of Russian holidaymakers to Turkey was good news for our business and compensated for the reduction in travel from Western Europe. In the cruise sector, we now operate globally from our base in Miami. We are also pleased with our development in the Asia-Pacific region. We are continually expanding our business in Malaysia and Sydney and now have an additional presence at Hong Kong International Airport. Our new joint venture at Tel Aviv Airport, which began operations on 1 Janu- ary 2018, has been another source of pride for us. Duty Free has an excellent position in Israel. Further to that, all of our departments are currently focusing on their preparations for the planned opening of the new airport in Istanbul at the end of this year. Our staff here at Gebr. Heinemann are all dedicated to conserving resources. We are committed to monitoring the economic, social and ecological impacts of the company’s business. Our pilot project for this is a collaboration with the ocean protection organisation OceanCare to reduce the amount of plastic bags in our shops. We hope you enjoy reading our Annual Report. Epilogue 279 Heinrich Heine Harry Heine, as he was originally named, was born in Diisseldorf on the Rhine, December 13, 1799. His father was a well-to-do Jewish merchant, and his mother, the daughter of the famous physician and Aulic Counlor Von Geldern, was, according to her son, a "femme distinguee." His early childhood fell in the days of the occupation of Diisseldorf by the French revolutionary troops; in the opinion of his biographer Strodtmann the influence of the French rule, thus brought directly to bear upon the formation of his char acter, can scarcely be exaggerated.

To these have been added over one hundred other choice selections written by our home musicians and by some of the best song writers of America. The revision is practically the work of our Sunday School Choristers. Letters were sent to upwards of one thousand Sunday School Stake and Ward Choristers asking them each to submit a list of ten of their favorite songs. The responses received furnished us with a list of about one thousand songs from which over one hundred new and beautiful selections, including many valuable copyrights, were made. A special feature of this collection is the large number of pieces suitable for sacramental pur- poses and of the higher grade of devotional hymns demanded by so many of our musicians.
