Smith A PREFACE DESERET SUNDAY SCHOOL SONGS THEincludes nearly all of the old Sunday School favorites, contained in the Deseret Sunday School Song Book, which have done such noble service in the musical uplift of our people. To these have been added over one hundred other choice selections written by our home musicians and by some of the best song writers of America. The revision is practically the work of our Sunday School Choristers. Letters were sent to upwards of one thousand Sunday School Stake and Ward Choristers asking them each to submit a list of ten of their favorite songs. The responses received furnished us with a list of about one thousand songs from which over one hundred new and beautiful selections, including many valuable copyrights, were made. A special feature of this collection is the large number of pieces suitable for sacramental pur- poses and of the higher grade of devotional hymns demanded by so many of our musicians. Mechanically the book is fully up-to-date and the songs are so arranged that each selection may be sung or played without turning the page. Grateful acknowledgement is extended to all who have aided us by their contributions. We earnestly hope and believe that the Deseret Sunday School Songs will meet the expectations of our Sunday School workers, prove a valuable aid in the moral and musical development of our children, and find a welcome in every home.     A message from HARLAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Harlan Husky Families, This week seemed to go by fast and these shorter periods of daylight are not helping. I hope that all of the kids transitioned back from the Thanksgiving break easily. I personally found that it was harder for all three of my kids to transition back to school mode from this break. I truly appreciate all of the effort the kids, parents and teachers are making to keep it positive. However, I do think that it is important to acknowledge that this whole situation is difficult, but to remind my kids (and myself) that they can do hard things!     1 THE COLLECTED POEMS OF HENRIK IBSEN Translated by John Northam 2 PREFACE With the exception of a relatively small number of pieces, Ibsen’s copious output as a poet has been little regarded, even in Norway. The English-reading public has been denied access to the whole corpus. That is regrettable, because in it can be traced interesting developments, in style, material and ideas related to the later prose works, and there are several poems, witty, moving, thought provoking, that are attractive in their own right. The earliest poems, written in Grimstad, where Ibsen worked as an assistant to the local apothecary, are what one would expect of a novice. Resignation, Doubt and Hope, Moonlight Voyage on the Sea are, as their titles suggest, exercises in the conventional, introverted melancholy of the unrecognised young poet. Moonlight Mood, To the Star express a yearning for the typically ethereal, unattainable beloved. In The Giant Oak and To Hungary Ibsen exhorts Norway and Hungary to resist the actual and immediate threat of Prussian aggression, but does so in the entirely conventional imagery of the heroic Viking past. From early on, however, signs begin to appear of a more personal and immediate engagement with real life. There is, for instance, a telling juxtaposition of two poems, each of them inspired by a female visitation. It is Over is undeviatingly an exercise in romantic glamour: the poet, wandering by moonlight mid the ruins of a great palace, is visited by the wraith of the noble lady once its occupant; whereupon the ruins are restored to their old splendour.

The return of Russian holidaymakers to Turkey was good news for our business and compensated for the reduction in travel from Western Europe. In the cruise sector, we now operate globally from our base in Miami. We are also pleased with our development in the Asia-Pacific region. We are continually expanding our business in Malaysia and Sydney and now have an additional presence at Hong Kong International Airport. Our new joint venture at Tel Aviv Airport, which began operations on 1 Janu- ary 2018, has been another source of pride for us. Duty Free has an excellent position in Israel. Further to that, all of our departments are currently focusing on their preparations for the planned opening of the new airport in Istanbul at the end of this year. Our staff here at Gebr.
