  • THE BONES Are Back in the Ring with Another Swing! Is It Really Already
THE BONES are back in the ring with another swing! Is it really already five years ago since Sweden’s finest Punk’n’Roll outfit took over our stereos with „Burnout Boulevard“? Apparently it is, but the good news is: the wait is over. On „Monkeys With Guns“, the fifth studio album in their enduring career, THE BONES are back blazing with 15 (17 on the Limited Edition and LP) blistering, hard hitting new tracks of perfect Punk’n’Roll marriage material made in hell. In our case, hell is a lovely little harbour-town called Karlskrona in the Southwest of Sweden. That’s where it all started out for THE BONES back in 1993. Back then singer/guitarist Beef Bonanza, along with his brother Spooky Fred and bassist Dollar Ace, were working on their first demos, which already included soon-to-be-classics like ‘I Met Elvis At The Nudybar’ and ‘Monsters Prefer Blondes’. When singer/guitar-slinger Marcus „Boner“ Petersson entered the picture in 1996 things began to speed up. Sharing a mutual love for high energetic punk and rock music in the vein of The Ramones and Motörhead and 50s and 60s rock’n’roll, THE BONES were always influenced by the melodic qualities of bands such as The Bay City Rollers and The Barracudas as well. After self-releasing „The Horrorway EP“ in 1997 german punk rock label I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison Records caught an eye on the ear-catching qualities of THE BONES. Following two more EPs, „Rock n' Roll Race“ and „Six Feet Down, Two Fingers Up“ the swedes finally released their adeptly titled debut album „Screwed, Blued & Tattooed“ in 2000 to critical acclaim.

The tight editing of "Along The Way" showed multiple Infirmity Blog camera angles from multiple shows, but all synched perfectly to one live audio track; if you didn't notice the stages changing or the differen t-shirts on the band members, you would not have noticed it wasn't one seamlessly edited performance. • Icon Patti Smith Headlines Latest Batch of Azkena Rock Festival 2020
Icon Patti Smith headlines latest batch of Azkena Rock Festival 2020 confirmations L7, Reverend Horton Heat, and The Steepwater Band choose the festival as their only stop in our country Booking open for campground plots and shuttle services for next 19th and 20th of June at Mendizabala, Vitoria-Gasteiz Symbol of feminism and the intellectualism of New York punk rock, the iconic Patti Smith headlines the new influx of names to the roster of the rock and roll festival par excellence: the Azkena Rock Festival, celebrating its 19th edition on the 19th and 20th of June, 2020, at Mendizabala, Vitoria-Gasteiz. American singer, composer, and author Patti Smith is considered one of the greatest shapers of New York punk. A poetess first, she fused rock and poetry in a style that made its mark on an entire generation and imbrued punk music with feminism and intellectualism. Her most popular song, “Because the Night”, co-written with Bruce Springsteen, is an anthem of the 20th century. Her identity as a political and environmental activist and poetess has always been inextricably intertwined with her music, and ever since her 1975 debut Horses at the outbreak of punk she hasn’t stopped bringing her honest and uncompromising attitude to audiences the world over. Now a cultural reference for all ensuing generations, the “godmother of punk” is coming to Azkena Rock Festival to get us singing along to the tunes of her eleven studio albums in an exercise in freedom and its uninhibited expression. Also joining the bill are Californians L7, legends of grunge and punk rock, who after announcing their first album in 20 years, Scatter the Rats, which sees them staying true to their essence with a more powerpop vibe, have chosen Azkena as their only Spanish date.
