Transport Department Notice Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for the Well-Wishing Festival in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po during Lunar New Year Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the traffic and crowd control for the Well-Wishing Festival in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po during Lunar New Year 2020, the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented. (II) SPECIAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS (A) Road Closure The section of Lam Tsuen Heung Kung Sho Road between Lam Tsuen pailou and Lam Tsuen Valley Committee will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic (except for emergency vehicles) for pedestrianisation from 7 am to 7 pm daily during the period between 25 January 2020 and 9 February 2020. (B) Temporary Traffic Diversions Police will implement intermittent traffic control measures by phases to restrict vehicles using Lam Kam Road and Lam Kam Road Interchange. Depending on the traffic and crowd situation, Police on site will implement the following road closure, traffic control measures and traffic diversions. 1. During the period between 25 January 2020 and 28 January 2020, all vehicles, except franchised buses, coaches, green minibuses, taxis and vehicles of Lam Tsuen residents, heading for Lam Kam Road (Pat Heung bound) can make access via Kwong Fuk Interchange, Tai Po Road – Yuen Chau Tsai eastbound, slip road, the nearside lane of Tolo Highway northbound and Lam Kam Road Interchange. 2. From 12.00 noon to 6.00 pm daily during the period between 25 January 2020 and 28 January 2020, depending on the traffic situation, the slip road leading from Tai Po Tai Wo Road to Tolo Highway northbound will be closed to all vehicles. All vehicles from Tai Po Tai Wo Road heading for Lam Kam Road (Pat Heung bound) can make access via Tolo Highway southbound, Kwong Fuk Interchange, Tai Po Road – Yuen Chau Tsai eastbound, slip road, the nearside lane of Tolo Highway northbound and Lam Kam Road Interchange. - 2 - (C) Banning of Turning Movement From 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm daily during the period between 25 January 2020 and 9 February 2020, the right turn movement for all vehicles from Lam Kam Road northbound onto She Shan Road southbound will be temporarily banned. The left turn movement for all vehicles from Lam Kam Road southbound onto She Shan Road southbound will also be temporarily banned. Depending on the traffic and crowd situation, Police on site will implement the above traffic control measures. (D) Temporary Relocation of Taxi Stand From 7.00 am to 6.00 pm during the period between 25 January 2020 and 28 January 2020, the taxi stand at Po Nga Road westbound near Tai Wo MTR Station towards the direction of Tai Po Tai Wo Road will be relocated to the leftmost lane of Po Nga Road westbound near Tai Wo MTR Station Exit A. (III) PUBLIC TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS (A) Franchised Bus Services KMB will operate a special service Route No. 63R (Tai Po Market Station - Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree) between 25 January 2020 and 9 February 2020 to cater for passenger demand. KMB will also operate special departures for Route No. 63R via Kwong Fuk Estate from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. daily during the period between 25 January 2020 and 28 January 2020. The service of KMB Route No. 64K (Tai Po Market Station – Yuen Long (West)) will be strengthened to provide short-working journeys between Kam Sheung Road Station and Fong Ma Po (Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree) subject to passenger demand. (B) Green Minibus Services Special departures of New Territories GMB Route No. 25K [Tai Po Market (Wai Yan Street) – Ng Tung Tsai] will be operated between Tai Wo Station and Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm daily during the period between 25 January 2020 and 28 January 2020. Appropriate traffic aids will be provided and Police officers will be stationed on site to guide motorists. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions from police and drive with utmost care.
