From the desk of Denise Ray, Activities Coordinator ! On June 6 th we honored 75 volunteers at our annual volunteer luncheon at Lantana in Randolph. We had 125 seniors qualify for the event by donat- ing 40 or more hours of volunteer time in a year. This year we tried something new and instead of hosting a guest speaker, we made our own slide show of the seniors and programs that benefitted from all these volunteer hours. We also played a couple new Weymouth Elder Services promotional videos using pic- tures taken throughout the year at the Senior Center. This new presentation style was very well received by the volunteers with positive comments flooding our office for at least a week following the event. The formal lunch was delicious with the main course of chicken and ham. ! ! The total number of active volunteers at Weymouth Elder Services is 180.
