Seventeen New York productions received 31 Golden Globe nominations, and 13 New York productions received 17 SAG Award nominations. All nominated productions participated in the New York State Film Tax Credit Program. "Thanks to our Film Tax Credit Program, New York State has become a top destination for productions, creating thousands of new jobs and generating billions of dollars in economic activity," said Commissioner Zemsky. “The film industry is one of New York’s most lucrative business sectors, and as today's many New York State nominees have learned firsthand, New York has access to top-level talent and diverse locations throughout the state.” The Film Tax Credit Program has contributed billions of dollars to the state’s economy, and is consistently cited as a leading factor by productions when deciding to film and produce in New York. The 22 productions earning nominations generated more than an estimated $490 million in spending in the state and approximately 31,825 new hires in the state.
