Confirmation and Adoption of Minutes Minutes of the Dundrum Area Committee Municipal Services Meeting held on 5th March 2018. (circulated herewith) 1 TRANSPORTATION SERVICES CEISTEANNA/QUESTIONS 2. Councillor S. Brennan “To ask the Chief Executive, following the provision of a near unanimous petition from the residents, what is the timeline for the implementation of a parking solution in Ashlawn Estate?” 3. Councillor S. Brennan “To ask the Chief Executive to carry out a parking survey on St. Columbanus Road, which is experiencing a very high volume of non-resident parking due to its vicinity to Windy Arbour Luas stop, and to report what measures may be undertaken to address this issue?” 4. Councillor D. Donnelly “To ask the Chief Executive to finish placing the speed signs in areas designated for them, including Mather Rd North, Mount Merrion?” 5. Councillor D. Donnelly “To ask the Chief Executive to consider putting a ‘staff only’ parking space for staff at the health clinic on St. Brigid’s Road, Stillorgan to facilitate the healthcare team who are called out regularly on house visits?” 6. Hand “To ask the Chief Executive for an update in relation to my previous enquiry regarding cars parking on Patrick Doyle Road, as residents find it very difficult to enter or exit the estate?” 7. Kennedy "To ask the Chief Executive whether consideration of a yellow box at Grange Cottages/Brewery Road, along with a request to repaint faded yellow lines close to this location, can be added to the next TAG agenda?" 8. Curran “That this Committee, given the over-crowding on LUAS, increase and forecasted increase in population in the Stepaside, Carrickmines and Leopardstown areas, as well as the need to link different communities, will write to Dublin Bus to ask them consider the reintroduction of the 44a bus route.” 16. Councillor S. Councillor D. Smith “That the Chief Executive urgently alters the timing of the traffic lights at the junction of Johnstown Road / Cabinteely Village and the N11 given the considerable build-up of traffic, especially during peak times, and the reduced number of cars able to pass through this intersection on the green light, and to provide a detailed report regarding same.” 18. Councillor S. O'Neill “That the Chief Executive, following the 8 week review and another near miss involving a young child, provides a school warden at the Luas crossing at Windy Arbour to operate at times agreed with the local school before there is a fatality.” 19. Councillor S. Brennan “That the Chief Executive immediately write to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), the National Transport Authority (NTA) and the Minister for Transport Tourism & Sport requesting the following: • A copy of the contract between Transdev and the TII / NTA for the operation of the LUAS services 3 • All Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in this contract and how the operator is performing with respect to these KPI’s • If KPI’s are not being met, what fines have been levied on the operator, as stipulated in the contract • Or, if the KPI’s are being met, in light of the degradation in service, what plans are there in place to introduce tighter service KPIs when the contract is re-tendered at the expiry of the existing contract in November 2019 And to CC Transdev on the above letters.” 20. Councillor C. Curran “That this Committee will liase with Stepaside Educate Together, Gealscoil Thaobh na Coille, local property management companies, state bodies and other local land owners (if applicable), with a view to providing a detailed report to this Committee that will provide possible options (including land aquisition) and recommendations as to how pedestrian access to the two schools can be improved, as well as alleviate the traffic flow on Belarmine Vale, Village Road and surrounding roads. The report will be provided before April 2018 and discussed in the May meeting as a headed item.” 21. Councillor S. Brennan “To ask the Chief Executive to inspect the damage caused by tree roots to the road and footpath on Maples Road, Wedgewood, and to provide a timeline as to when remedial work can be carried out?” 23. Councillor P. Hand “To ask the Chief Executive to repair the footpaths on Pine Copse Road, as some of the footpaths are in a very bad condition?” 24. Councillor P. Hand “To ask the Chief Executive to repair the footpaths around the small green area at Rosemount Estate?” 25. Councillor P. Hand “To ask the Chief Executive to repair the road surface at the entrance to Mulvey Park?” 26. Councillor J. Kennedy "To ask the Chief Executive whether it is possible to instigate comprehensive general street maintenance on Whitethorn Road in Clonskeagh?" 27. Councillor J. Kennedy "To ask the Chief Executive to comment on possible measures to alleviate flooding at the entrance of Drummartin Park?" 28. Councillor L. McCarthy “To ask the Chief Executive to please make every effort to advance the Taking In Charge of the area in front of the Holy Trinity School, so that a School Warden can be appointed in the interest of safety for children attending here?” 29. Councillor L. McCarthy “To ask the Chief Executive to please erect a fence between Fernleigh and the Kilgobbin Road footpath that would act as a barrier against the considerable amount of illegal dumping which takes place at present?” 30. Councillor L. McCarthy “To ask the Chief Executive to please consult with staff who were involved in gritting and clearing snow in the Dundrum area during the recent storms with a view to introducing more suitable vehicles that can be used in estates that are not suitable for snow ploughs due to parking of cars on both sides of the road?” 31. Councillor L. McCarthy “To ask the Chief Executive when the red ramps in Cruagh Manor will be upgraded, as they have disintegrated further following the recent snow?” 5 32. Hand “That the Chief Executive carry out an inspection of the footpaths and road surface at the junction of Meadow Park and Nutgrove Avenue.” 34. Councillor K. Furlong "That this Committee requests that the N11 cycle lane inbound, from the junction with Lower Kilmacud Road to the junction with Mount Merrion Avenue, be swept to remove broken glass and other debris that causes punctures, and that this sweeping be done on a scheduled basis in future." 6 PARKS SERVICES CEISTEANNA/QUESTIONS 35. Councillor S. Brennan “To ask the Chief Executive to partially contribute to the creation of a boundary fence between Council land and resident’s land at the southern end of the Dundrum Gate apartment complex?” 36. Councillor S. Brennan “To ask the Chief Executive to provide full details of the cost of installing the changing rooms at the football fields in Rosemount?” 37. Councillor C. Curran “To ask the Chief Executive if they are aware that the Ballyogan pitches have no means to store sports related equipment for local sports teams and to ask for a remedy to this situation as soon as possible?” 38. Councillor D. Donnelly “To ask the Chief Executive to cut back and maintain the overgrown area between the bus stop on the N11 and the Old Dublin Rd/Greygates, Mount Merrion at the end of Trees Road Lower? The space between the two roads is overgrown as is the walkway between the Old Dublin Road leading to the bus shelter.” 39.
