THE PRIDE CUP SERIES 9 Raising money for a good cause We are delighted to say that this project has been officially endorsed by the leading LGBT equality charity Stonewall. Stonewall was founded in 1989 by a small group of people who had been active in the struggle against Section 28 of the Local Government Act. Since then Stonewall has campaigned for the equality of LGBT people across the UK and the World. Stonewall receives no core government funding and funds are instead raised in a variety of ways including donations, sponsorship and fundraising events. Hal is planning to eventually sell the cups and a significant amount of the money raised will be donated to this excellent cause.
