In 1998, a year before the British Museum purchased the Warren cup (still the most they’ve paid to date for a piece), Sir Claude Hankes commissioned the Museum of Bern to take a mould.

He gave Hal the mould and his blessing to use it for this project.

The Pride Cups will be launched in the Enlightenment Gallery at the British Museum, the home of the original Warren Cup, in July 2019 to coincide with Pride week in London.

We are anticipating a broad spread of coverage in the national press who will be present at the event.

Following launch, we are looking for the perfect partner to display the Pride Cups, a unique venue open to the press and the public.

This is an opportunity to challenge society to think again about sexual attitudes through a project with an engaging and inclusive story.

THE PRIDE CUP SERIES 9 Raising money for a good cause

We are delighted to say that this project has been officially endorsed by the leading LGBT equality charity Stonewall.

Stonewall was founded in 1989 by a small group of people who had been active in the struggle against Section 28 of the Local Government Act.

Since then Stonewall has campaigned for the equality of LGBT people across the UK and the World.

Stonewall receives no core government funding and funds are instead raised in a variety of ways including donations, sponsorship and fundraising events.

Hal is planning to eventually sell the cups and a significant amount of the money raised will be donated to this excellent cause.
