In decursul vremurilor §i sub o formA sau alta, terorismul si-a facut simtitA prezenta in randurile majoritdtii popoarelor. S-a manifestat prin acte de violenta, care au trezit in con§tiinta oamenilor revoltd §i indignare, avAnd, de regula, consecinte negative asupra dezvoltdrii normale a relatiilor sociale. Ca fenomen s-a impus in epoca modem./ "Teroarea revolutionard" initiatd de dictatura iacobind in timpul revolutiei franceze (1793-1794), precum §i "teroarea r4e", prin care s-a impus partidul bo4evic din Rusia dupd preluarea puterii in urma loviturii de palat din octombrie 1917, au avut ca principal obiectiv intimidarea sau lichidarea fizia a adversarilor politici. Iatd de ce, pând la sfdr§itul primului rdzboi mondial, terorismul a fost considerat ca fenomen de stfinga. In perioada interbelicd actiunile teroriste au fost initiate in principal de grupuri separatiste de dreapta, a§a cum a fost, de exemplu, cel al usta§ilor care doreau independenta Croatiei. Pand in 1945 nu au existat actiuni teroriste sistematice in Europa, de§i in unele state s-au manifestat destul de riguros, cum a fost in Rusia sovieticd, Croatia, Spania §i Romfinia. Proportiile violentei au avut ca principald consecintd vdtdmarea stabilitalii relatiilor normale de convietuire papica,alegaturilordiplomatice,culturale§ieconomice,desfa§uratein conformitate cu normele §i principiile dreptului international. A Historiographical Analysis 1) Florin Nacu Abstract The article reveals the moment and the implications of the Romanian intervention in Hungary, in 1919, after the proclamation of the Soviet Hungarian Republic, under the leadership of Bela Kun, an advocate and journalist with Jewish-Hungarian origin, born in 1886, at Cehu Silvaniei, then in Austria-Hungary, today in Romania. The issue was presented in the historiography with multiple senses. Romanian intervention was seen by the contemporaries as a defensive action of Romania to impose the decisions of December 1-st 1918 of Alba Iulia. Hungarian republican troops refused to retreat according to the international agreements on the Franchet D(Esperey Line. After Bela Kun seized power as a Bolshevik internationalist leader, on March, 21 1919, the great powers had seen an immediate danger for extending the Communism from Soviet Russia which was in the Civil War. For Romania, the attitude of Bela Kun was seen as a threat regarding Transylvania, because Bela Kun refused to admit the historical rights of Romania and declared war on Romania, on April 16, 1919. Romania succeeded to have Banat under complete Romanian administration on August 3, 1919, when Romanian troops entered in Timisoara. Romanian campaign in Hungary, started on passing Tisa on July 24 1919, had a double asset, as the researchers considered: on the main side, a communist government in Central Europe could be dismissed, on the other side; Romania could have more rights when the Treaty with Hungary will be signed.

    Mihaela DAMIAN GĂLĂȚENI ÎN SLUJBA REVOLUȚIEI BOLȘEVICE PEOPLE FROM GALAȚI IN SERVICE OF THE BOLTCHEVICK REVOLUTION - Abstract - The article deals with the events that took place during WWI, more exactly in the period comprised between the second half of 1917 and the first half of 1918, in Odessa and in other towns from Southern Russia. These places, at that time, sheltered a considerable number of institutions and persons from Romania. For the Romanians refugees from those places, the outburst of the Bolchevik revolution had unfortunate consequences. In the context of the anarchy that engulfed the whole territory of Russia, the Romanians became victims of acts of theft and terror. Among the persecutors, there were also other Romanian nationals, members of the Odessa branch of the Action Committee of the Social Democratic Party. Some members of this Committee originated from the town of Galaţi; they had been radicalized and had started to serve the interests of revolutionary Russia. Their actions are presented and analyzed in the present paper. Keywords: WWI, Bolchevik revolution, Galaţi, Odessa, Romanian revolutionary battalions. Istoricul creatorului fondului - Institutul de Studii Istorice şi Social-Politice Institutul de Studii Istorice şi Social-Politice (I.S.I.S.P.) a devenit funcţional la 26 martie 1951, sub denumirea de Institut de Istorie a Partidului, având ca principal scop cercetarea şi (re)scrierea istoriei mişcării muncitoreşti, socialiste (social-democrate) şi comuniste din România şi din lume în conformitate cu propaganda oficială şi linia politico-ideologică a P.M.R./P.C.R. Relaţia Institutului cu Partidul Comunist este demonstrată prin directa tutelare a acestuia de către Comitetul Central al Partidului. Problema înfiinţării unui asemenea institut s-a discutat încă din anul 1950, când prin Hotărârea Biroului Politic al C.C. al P.M.R. nr.2/1950 s-a decis organizarea Institutului de Istorie a Partidului, însă noua instituţie şi-a început oficial activitatea un an mai târziu, la data de 8 mai 1951. Comitetul Politic Executiv al P.C.R. a hotărât la 22 martie 1966 transformarea Institutului de Istorie a Partidului în Institutul de Studii Istorice şi Social- Politice de pe lângă C.C. al P.C.R. But the tale is not a fable; it is the amazing story of Brandeis University. For more than a century American Jews had nurtured a dream of creating a university which evoked their ancient heritage of scholarship and their gratitude to a nation which offered them haven and freedom . On October 11, 1948, the dream became a reality. Th e first Jewish-sponsored, nonsectarian university in the United States, named in memory of Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis , opened its doors on the campus of what had been Middlesex Un iversity . Startling in contrast t o the few buildings which originally dotted the 250-acre campus stood--perhaps as a portend to future greatness--a castle .. This imposing structure, designed after medieval architecture, had been part of Middlesex. Sachar, historian and teacher , became Brandeis' first president and served in that capacity for twenty years at which time he became chancellor of the University. His recently published book, A Host At Last, chronicles the fantas tic growth of Brandeis--thanks to the steadfast commi t ment and magnificent generosity of the American J ewish community. Dr . Marver H. Bernstein, former dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princet on University, has been president since 1972.

Cât despre ăştia, care îşi dau arama pe faţă, totul este consemnat şi va veni şi timpul când ne vom răfui cu ei” (Stalin, 1924) ,,Un comunist este ca un crocodil: când deschide gura nu ştii dacă încearcă să-ţi zâmbească sau se pregăteşte să te mănânce” (Winston Churchill) Citatele de mai sus încearcă să contureze o imagine amplă asupra unui sistem social-politic importat din URSS, care a dominat – timp de 50 de ani – şi o parte semnificativă a continentului european, într-un secol al extremelor, al regimurilor dictatoriale de extremă stângă sau dreaptă, al experimentelor sociale nereuşite, ce pretindeau a aduce ,,binele general”, al ,,-ismelor” (fascism, nazism, comunism). În aceeaşi manieră, reputatul istoric Costin Feneşan realizează o remarcabilă sinteză a documentelor privind istoria mişcării comuniste şi a Partidului Comunist din România în perioada ,,copilăriei” comunismului în ţara noastră, reuşind – prin intermediul analizei şi a comparaţiei – să demonteze unele teorii insuficient argumentate despre această perioadă şi despre minusculul partid comunist şi, în egală măsură, să formuleze opinii şi concluzii foarte interesante şi pertinente despre mişcarea comunistă în spaţiul românesc şi, prin extensie, în cel est şi sud-est european. Titlul volumului – de altfel, impresionant prin calitatea şi cantitatea informaţiei brute şi prelucrate, conexiuni, comparaţii, opinii şi concluzii – Sub steag străin, este relevant pentru ,,cazul comuniştilor din România şi al partidului lor care, încă de la bun început, nu s-au aflat sub faldurile tricolorului”, după cum spune chiar autorul.
