Beer, glorious beer! THE DRINK THAT’s aS QUINTESSENTIALLY BRITISH AS THE UNION JACK OR A RED PHONE BOX. Beer has been produced in Britain for thousands of years. By the Middle Ages it was already our number one drink, as it was always cleaner than the water. And today our thirst for more and more beer is unquenchable. So join us on a tasting trail around the British Isles; you never know what you might find – a Banana Bread or an Old Tom with Chocolate; the eccentric names can only hint at the taste sensations which lie ahead. All of our featured beers have their own unique characteristics and complexities, with differences in style, quality, taste and strength. By tasting different types of beers you’ll soon learn to appreciate the variations (a convenient excuse in anyone’s book). And if you’re spoilt for choice and simply don’t know where to start, we’ve just the thing – a ‘beer flight’. These selections offer three different beers (a 1/3 of a pint each) from a chosen region of the country. And if beer doesn’t float your boat (or should we say sail your ship?) we have some refreshing fruity alternatives for you from the major cider producing counties of Herefordshire and Somerset – like Old Rosie and Orchard Pig. So whether you’re an authority on ale, or a true ‘beerginner’, let the journey commence and the amber nectar flow. Bottoms up!!! What’s your style?
