We choose a location for our tour in the Salzburg Saalach valley, together with a certified ski and mountain guide, according to the snow situation and the fitness and motivation of our guests. Walking up and escaping the hectic bustle in the valley opens up new dimensions of nature. Afterwards, one can either snow-shoe walk back down to the val- ley or take the cable car. Snow-shoe walking techniques as well as the correct behaviour amongst nature in winter are explained. This tour is especially suitable for beginners.

Weissbach: Oberweissbach Trail - 3 km Cross-Country Trail, St. Martin - Lofer - 9 km Trail access is located by the Hirschbichler Landesstrasse (road) in the town centre of Weissbach, floodlit after dark. Breath the fresh air, enjoy nature, glide silently across the snow - cross-country skiing in the most beautiful form. You can set out on the St. Martin - Lofer trail at the Gasthof Luftenstein, with other access points in the town of St. Martin and at the Gasthof Hochmoos. 10 km, excellently groomed trail (both classic and skating), easy with no climbs. You will be able to ski from Gasthof Luftenstein via St. Martin - Gasthof Hochmoos - Moosloipe and on to Lofer. NEW CONNECTION: there is now a direct connection between the Moosloipe trail and Scheffs- noth, with accessibility to Camping Grubhof. Floodlit Cross-Country Trail - skating and classic - daily from 5:00 until ca. 9:00pm, total distance of ca. 1.5 km in St. Martin.

Unken: Winter Hike Josefsallee - Steinpass - Gsengsteig Our hike begins at the KinderHotel Post. We leave the village road and turn right at the Schreder cabinetmaker’s onto the Josefsallee. Following the banks of the Saalach, after a half- hour we reach the waste-treatment plant (the most modern one in Salzburg province) and hike towards the customs office. The Gsengsteig trail begins right there at the border post, from where we will hike through forests and enjoy the magnificent views of Unken. The Gsengsteig is an easy walk, doesn’t have any major hills and is well marked. Now via the new sports grounds and the Reitbaur farm, we will again reach the town centre and conclude our hike with a traditional glass of “Hunt Tea”at one of the good inns in Unken. Walk-Time: ca. 2.5 to 3 hours.
Lofer: Winter Hike to the Krepperbauer This short mountain hike takes us to an elevation of 712 m above sea level.
