NOTICE OF ELECTION THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BLOOMFIELD

To the Qualified Electors of the CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BLOOMFIELD, County of Oakland:

Notice is hereby given that a Special Election will be held in the CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BLOOMFIELD, County of Oakland, on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of voting on the following proposal: Oakland Community College Operating Millage Renewal Proposal This proposal authorizes Oakland Community College to continue to levy 0.7545 mills for operating purposes for 10 years as a renewal of a millage previously approved by the electors in 2010, which expires with the 2021 tax levy.

In addition, Township voters in the Birmingham Public School District will vote on the following millage proposal:

Birmingham Public Schools Replacement Operating Millage Proposal This proposal would restore, replace and extend the authority of the Birmingham Public Schools to levy up to 18.00 mills for general school district operating purposes on taxable property in the School District to the extent that such property is not exempt from such levy and would restrict the levy on principal residences (owner occupied homes) to no more than 14.24 mills.

1. Precinct 24, Bloomfield Hills High School, has been temporarily relocated to Bloomfield Community Television Studio, 4190 Dublin Drive, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 2. Precinct 2, Whethersfield Apartment Community Building, has been temporarily relocated to Marian High School, 7225 Lahser Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI. 3. Precinct 22, Bloomfield Township Central Fire Station, has been temporarily relocated to Dave Payne Public Services Building, 1153 Exeter Street, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 4. Precinct 6, Bloomfield Township Fire Station No. 2, has been temporarily relocated to Eastover Elementary School, 1101 Westview Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 5. Precinct 28, R.V. Hackett Village Hall, has been temporarily relocated to Brother Rice High School, 7101 Lahser Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 6. Precinct 30, Bloomfield Hills Middle School, has been temporarily relocated to Conant Elementary School, 4100 Quarton Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 7. Precinct 17, Bloomfield Township Fire Station No. 4, has been temporarily relocated to St. Paul Methodist Church, 165 E. Square Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 8. Precinct 21 and 32, Adams Woods Community Building and the Bowers Farm School House, respectively, have been temporarily relocated to the Bowers Farm Activity Building, 1219 E. Square Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 9. Precinct 31, The Heathers Club, has been temporarily relocated to the International Academy, 1020 E. Square Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI.

For assistance in determining the accessibility of the polling place locations and the availability of voting instructions in alternative formats such as audio and Braille, please contact the Bloomfield Township Clerk’s Office.

Persons wishing to obtain an absentee ballot may do so by contacting the Bloomfield Township Clerk’s Office, Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. In addition, the Clerk’s Office will be open Friday, November 1, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 2, 2019, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2019. Electors may obtain an absent voter ballot in person in the Clerk’s Office up to 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2019.
