The jury of the Demetrio Stratos International Award has given the names of the selected musicians and projects, career award to Diamanda Galas. The jury of the Demetrio Stratos International Award, whose members were Patrizio Fariselli, Gerd Rische, Walter Prati, Claudio Chianura and Daniela Ronconi Demetriou (as the President), has given the names of the selected musicians and projects for the two competing sections. The career award has been granted to the singer/musician DIAMANDA GALAS. The award for the emerging artist best project has been assigned to Romina Daniele, born in 1985 in Naples and living in . Diamanda Galás will receive the award during the next Meeting of Independent Labels in Faenza, on November 26th 2005. For the occasion, Diamanda Galás will hold a meeting/seminar on experimental vocalism on November 25th in Milan (venue to be defined yet), with the presence also of Romina Daniele, who will have then the chance of carrying out one of her projects in the Electronic Studios of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, with the support of the Music, Musicians and Technologies Foundation in Milan. Diamanda Galas’s seminar will last a whole day and will deal with the forms and techniques of vocal experimentation that the artist has been exploring during the course of her work.

The Competition has been promoted by the MM&T Foundation, by Auditorium Edizioni and by the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, with the contribution of the Milan Province, Arts Councillorship, and of the Meeting of Independent Labels in Faenza.
