On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On March 26, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

— Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0289), 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0107) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (catalogue number 5216-0105) of the series «The 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945».

Description of the coins of precious metals:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs), 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155,5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage 1500 pcs) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE ROUBLES), «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES), «ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ» (FIFTY ROUBLES) respectively and the year of issue «2015», between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the mint and fine precious metal content. The reverse side:

— of a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles bears relief images of soviet soldiers raising the Banner of Victory over the Reichstag. There is an inscription — «70 ЛЕТ ПОБЕДЫ» (70 YEARS OF VICTORY) in two lines on the left;

— of a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles depicts relief images framed by St. George ribbon: the Order of the Patriotic War with diverging cross beams of searchlights — in the center, the «Soldier liberator» monument of the memorial complex in Treptower park in Berlin — on top in the center, marshal G.K. Zhukov at the Victory in the Red Square on June 24, 1945 — on the left, a part of the poster «The Motherland calls!» — on the right, a soldier writing on the wall of the Reichstag — at the bottom on the left, the «Fight to the Death!» monument against the background of the main monument «The Motherland calls!» of the memorial complex «To the Heroes of Stalingrad battle» on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd — at the bottom on the right. There is an inscription — «70 ЛЕТ ПОБЕДЫ» (70 YEARS OF VICTORY) in two lines on top; — of a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles has a relief image of the Eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall. There is an inscription — «70 ЛЕТ ПОБЕДЫ» (70 YEARS OF VICTORY) in two lines on the right.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
