Whereas a less exposed remote and wild hidden Tsum valley was almost nothing known before 2008, unlike the rich cultural heritage and secretive of hilltop monasteries, traditional villages, colorful people, mysterious yaks and hurdles of mani walls, chortens, lively festivals, historic treasures, and picturesque villages being considered to be as Shangri-La of the Himalayas. Trek starts from Sotikhola, climbs the Budhi Gandaki valley through a forest of pine and rhododendron, heads up over a ridge that leads to Lokpa, the entrance to the wild route to Tsum valley. From Chhokangparo, we will be in the upper valley of the inner Himalayas. Refreshing forests of bamboo and exotic rhododendron, higher trials are lead to silent alpine glades and rugged, high mountain desert. Day to Day Itinerary Day 1 Drive from kathmandu to Arughat - then drive to Soti Khola (730 m/2896 ft) Itinerary Facts Driving Hours (160km/99.4 miles) -6-8hrs After an early breakfast, we will start our trip with a drive along the Prithivi highway west from Kathmandu, through the beautiful river view cross the Trishuli River and reach Dhading Bensi through pitched road. We will stop along the way for breaks and lunch. Four to five hours bus drive from Dhading Besi takes us Arkhet, driving along with the scenic villages, rivers, follow continually Dorandi Khola northwards to Gorkha and Arukhat with observing the Mount Manaslu and Ganesh Himal range on the footsteps of Manaslu where we change next jeep to Arkhet by following the Budhi Gandaki River. Arughat Bazaar is clustered on both sides of the River Budi-Gandaki linked by a suspension bridge, this is the largest settlement in the valley, also a junction to various important places, two hours drive from Arughat takes us to Soti Khola.
