Manaslu Circuit Trek Overview This is one of the most happening and remarkable Himalayan journey that goes across Budi Gandaki, passing stunning valley with astonishing view of Manaslu and crossing the famous Larkya La pass with contrast with Sama region before returning via Marshyangdi. Despite of its grand natural beauty, it receives few trekkers compared to other established trekking route in and Everest region. Trekking through the villages inhibited by Buddhist community and the most isolated areas surrounding Makalu Base Camp are the adrenaline pumping parts of the trek. We will travel to the borderland of Tibet, experience and witness Tibetan culture and lifestyle, view regal mountain vista and walk in the dense forest compiling this one of a kind Himalayan journey. Itinerary Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival As soon as you land on the Tribhuwan International Airport our representative will pick you and transfer to the hotel. In the evening there will be briefing about the trek. Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Today we will start the day by visiting Pashupatinath temple which is situated 5km east of Kathmandu in the bank of holy Bagmati River. Pashupatinath is a pagoda shaped temple with tiered golden roofs and silver doors. Only the Hindu’s can visit the temple, but the visitors can clearly see the temple and activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of Bagmati River where the dead bodies are cremated. From here we will visit Boudhanath Stupa which is located 8km east of Kathmandu. Boudhanath stupa is dome shaped monument representing the mind of Buddha and pilgrimage destination for Tantric Buddha. . In the afternoon we will drive to Patan Durbar Square which is situated in the southern area of the city. The square is dotted with ancient palaces, temples and shrines which are known for their antique and exquisite carvings. From here we will proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is the historic seat of Nepalese royalty. Here we will visit Kastamandap Temple (a temple rumored to be constructed from the wood of single tree), Taleju temple, statue of Kal Vairab, Basantapur palace and Kumari Temple (residence of living goddess Kumari). After this we will pay our visit to Swoyambhunath temple which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple dates back to 2500years and is situated in the hilltop offering the astonishing view of Kathmandu. Return back to hotel for overnight stay. Day 3: Drive to Arughat Bazaar Early in the morning following the we drive towards the historic city of Gorkha. From Gorkha we will leave the main road and enter into a bumpy and dusty which ultimately takes us to Arughat in the Budi Gandaki Valley. Rarely the road to Arughat faces blockage so we may have to vary the route for the initial few days of our trek. Day 4: Trek to Liding The day’s trek is quite easy as it passes through several villages and cultivated slopes following the Budi Gandaki valley in the north. After making a short climb to Kyoropani the trail drops down to Soti khola and then ultimately to our camping site in Liding. Day 5: Trek to Machha Khola; 5-6hours Following Budi Gandaki River the trail goes above the river through the densely forested area. Today the trail winds around the small villages and cultivated farmland which ultimately takes us to Machha Khola which is the tributary of Budi Gandaki River. Day 6: Trek to Yaru; 5hours Crossing the bridge over Machha Khola we will trek through the rocky trail to Tatopani. The hot water springs present here is channeled out through the help of taps situated in the center of village. From here we will trek down to Dovan which has few tea houses. After making our way through the steep trail we will cross a suspension bridge at Yaru and set a camp near the stream. Day 7: Trek to Philim; 6hours Living Yaru the trail takes us to Jagat which is a well kept paved village. From Philim the trail moves to Sirdabas which offers the astonishing view of Sringi Himal. From Sirdabas the trail goes down to river, where we will cross the suspension bridge and climbs to Philim. Day 8: Trek to Deng; 5hours From Philim the trail winds around spectacular chilly waterfalls located in the either side of the valley. Making our way through Eklabatti and Euwa we will ultimately reac our camping site in the village of Deng. Day 9: Trek to Prok; 5hours From Deng the trail descends down to the river and we will cross it before steeply climbing uphill. Passing through small hamlets the trails ascend into an impressive valley. Making our through the mani stones carved into the rocks we will reach the village of Gyapsa and then our camping site in Pork. Day 10: Trek to Lho; 6-7hours From Gyapsa the trail goes up through the alpine pine forest to Namrung. From Namrung the valley widens into an extensive farmlands all around. Continuously making our way uphill we pass the Tibetan village of Sho which offers the extensive view of Manaslu. Further walking ahead we will reach our camping site in Lho. Day 11-12: Trek to Kermo Kharka, acclimatization day and optional day hike to Manaslu Base Camp. Day 13-14: Trek to Samdo(3860m); 3hours and acclimatization day and explore Lajyung Bhanjyang valley Making our way through the pastureland, the trail gently climbs up to the valley. Watching the magnificent view of Himalayas particularly Manaslu we will reach our camping site in Samdo. Samdo is the last permanent settlement in the valley and is only a day’s walk away from the Tibetan border. Today’s trek is quite short, so in the remaining time of the day we can explore the village and surrounding hills. Next we will take a day rest such as to acclimatize and make ourselves ready to cross the pass. In the afternoon we can explore Lajyung Bhanjyang valley. Day 15: Trek to Larkya Bazaar (4450m); 4hours Leaving Samdo behind us the trail crosses the stream to reaches the arid landscape of Larkya Bazaar which used to be the core point of trade with Tibet. Making a steep climb we will reach our campsite which is also the last campsite before the pass. Day 16: Cross the pass and trek to Bimthang(3590m); 10-11hours Starting quite in the morning the trail goes uphill to the moraine of the glacier with the astonishing view of Larkya Peak. Initially the walk is gentle but by the end the trail faces the steep uphill climb to the Larkya Pass (5213m). This is the highest point of the trek and grants the intact view of Annapurna II, Hiunchuli and Kang Guru. After crossing the pass the trail goes down to Tanbuche and then ultimately to our campsite in Bimthang. Day 17-19: Trek to Syange. Day 20: Trek to Bhulbhule Following Marshyangdi River we continue to go downhill to the village of Bhulbhule. Day 21: Walk to Khudi and then drive back to Kathmandu From Bulbule we walk for few hours toKhudi where our trek comes to an end.
