Double Emmy Award-Winning Actor, Critically Acclaimed Author, Respected Educator, Prolific Speaker, Master Storyteller… these are just a few characteristics to describe the genius of Gregory Alan Williams!

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Gregory Alan Williams knew from an early age that he was destined for more than the small town he lived in. He was going to be a star, and in due time, he was going to prove it not only to himself, but to the world!

Greg recollects, “I always said to myself, one day they’re going to see me on that big screen. They’re going to be sitting in their living rooms and POW! I’m just going to pop up on that TV.” That dream sustained him throughout his childhood into his teenage years and through his journey into manhood. It was after he attended Coe College and served our country in the United States Marine Corps that his dream came true.

Greg’s acting debut came in 1988 when he starred opposite Steven Seagal in Above the Law. The following year, he landed a recurring role on the hit television series, Baywatch. For seven seasons, he played beach cop, Garner Ellerbee, a role that he reprised in the 1995 spin-off series, Baywatch Nights, and when he returned to Baywatch in 1996, his work had swelled by nearly one hundred and fifty additional career titles, including recurring roles on The Sopranos and The West Wing.

Today, the resume of Gregory Alan Williams continues to be memorable and consistent. He has appeared in more than forty-five feature films, including celebrated classics like Remember the Titans (), In the Line of Fire (Clint Eastwood), Old School (Will Ferrell), Terminator Genysis (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Misconduct (Al Pacino), The Accountant (Ben Affleck), Hidden Figures (Taraji P. Henson) and so much more!

His latest guest-star/recurring television work includes NBC’s Game of Silence (David Lyons), the CW’s Containment, season one of the ABC series Secrets and Lies (Juliette Lewis, Ryan Philippe) and BET’s Being Mary Jane (). The most recent and exciting addition to the double Emmy Award-winner’s broad list of credits, is his current series regular role as Robert “Mac” McCready on the hit OWN network series, Greenleaf (Lynn Whitfield, , ).

Greg’s 30-year career also includes stage work with Pulitzer Prize Winner, August Wilson, as well as the Chicago Shakespeare Repertory Theater, Chicago Theater Company, Mixed Blood (Mpls) and Chicago’s Goodman Theater. He is also a founding member of the world-renowned Penumbra Theater in St. Paul, MN.

Greg’s accolades include “Best Actor” honors at the Christian International Film Festival (2015) for his work in the inspirational short film, Roses, as well as a second regional Emmy Award as narrator of the Vietnam War documentary, Iowans Remember Vietnam.

Speaking of accolades, in 1992, Greg was heralded, nationally, as hero and “Good Samaritan” for his rescue of a brutally beaten motorist at the intersection of Florence and Normandy – the epicenter of the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. Williams responded to the recognition with his book, “A Gathering of Heroes: Reflections on Rage and Responsibility – A Memoir of the Los Angeles Riots,” which was hailed as “...a moving illumination on the meaning of brotherhood.” (Kirkus Review). He then went on to write other critically acclaimed works, including “For Black, Brown & Beige Baby Girls Born Too Beautiful to Watch the Bay” (The Journey Press), “Boys to Men: Made for the Journey” (Doubleday) and “Heart of a Woman” (Enaz Publications).
