6.2 Utilities List of Utilities

S.No Utility Description 1 Boilers 3x100 TPH coal fired boilers 2 DM Plant 40 KL/hour 3 DG sets 10x 1000 KVA 24x500 KVA 22x250 KVA 4 Effluent Treatment Contains ETP, Incinerator, Multiple effect System evaporators, strippers 5 Fire Hydrant System ** DG set will be used during load shut down. 6.3 Waste management Liquid Effluents The main sources of effluent generation from the plant are process, washings, Scrubber, blow downs from utilities like cooling tower, boiler & domestic effluents. The process effluents are segregated on the basis on TDS and COD loads and treated in Effluent treatment system. Air Pollution The sources of air pollution are process, utilities, Diffuse Emissions and fugitive emissions. The process emissions shall be mitigated /controlled by provision of scrubbers and incinerators by the individual units. The emissions from utilities shall be mainly from the boiler and DG set. Solid waste The main sources of solid wastes during operation of the industrial estate are ash from boilers, used batteries and waste oil from DG sets apart from process wastes. The individual units shall generate process wastes, solvent residues etc. The effluent treatment scheme shall generate salts and organics, which shall be treated before disposal. Hence it is proposed to provide an incinerator and a rotary kiln for the treatment of organic residues and inorganic salts respectively. The solid wastes generated from the process shall be sent to TSDF located at Visakhapatnam /Hyderabad. 7. Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Plan Not applicable.
