Wishes to involve all newcomers to the amazing experience of running as an effective method for a longer, healthier life; • Offers frequent runners a well-organized marathon experience and a chance to fulfill their athletic ambitions; • Introduces sports lovers the wonderful Mulgimaa as a beautiful and interesting place through sports activities and enlivens the communication between both countries. Competition class is opened even with a single competitor in that class. The three absolute best men and women at marathon will obtain a trophy. The first three men and women at marathon and half marathon will be rewarded with a medallion, diploma and with a prize. The first three men and women at Lake Karksi run will be rewarded with a medallion, diploma and with a prize. Each finisher of a marathon, half marathon and Lake Karksi run will be rewarded with a memorable medallion. The three best of each age group will be rewarded with a diploma and with a prize. INFO Attendance is optional for all people under their own responsibility whose health condition allows them to finish a chosen distance according to the competition manual, who is prepared for the chosen activity and who confirms those terms with their signature on the registration paper. Younger than 17 year old competitors must have a parental or representative signature on the registration paper. Drink stops are approximately after every 6 kilometers where water and sports drinks are offered. Village stations also offer food which include bread, white bread, salt, raisins and bananas. Assistant referees are at crossroads and turning points who regulate traffic and guarantee safety. Medical vehicle will attend the main distance and will provide medical care if needed. The transportation of clothes for marathon and half marathon runners will be provided by the organizer. Before each start, busses for competitors will departure from the finish at Lake Karksi as follows: Ruhja, to the start of the marathon – departure at 5.30 Estonian-Latvian border, to the start of the half marathon – departure at 7.30 Attention! The track runs through open traffic highways where speed is limited, please follow the traffic rules. The track is not certified (the distance between start and finish is longer than required). All scores will be won and not published in official marathon rankings. Mulgi marathon is categorized as a cross-marathon competition. Entry fees apply only to competitors in competition classes Youngsters and Adults. Participation for people in competition class Children is free. Mulgi marathon promotes youth sports and the practicing of healthy lifestyles from a young age. The history of Mulgi marathon The first Mulgi marathon took place in 2009 as a festive competition between four parishes in Mulgimaa (Abja parish, Karksi parish, Halliste parish and Tarvastu parish). Mulgi marathon now took off and became International in 2015 and is now collaborating with a town in Republic of Latvia, Ruhja.
