I refer to your email of 11 March 2019 to the Ministry of Health (the Ministry) requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

"how many appendicectomies (laparoscopiclopen) were done in NZ in 2017 or 2018 (most recent data). Is there also data on how many people had a diagnosis of appendicitis from the same calendar months. Is there data on this by DHB/hospital as we are looking at the service provision of rural hospitals in comparison to metropolitan hospitals for acute care surgery - part of a publication. I can access Australian data from Medicare billing online but we have no equivalent"
