Frontier Natural Gas LLC (Frontier) would like to take this opportunity to inform and educate the general public on safety around our natural gas pipelines. Frontier has natural gas lines in your area and we want you to be safe when digging near and around our lines. Always call 811, the North Carolina dig safe program, when digging in an area that may have a natural gas pipeline. If you’re not sure, it’s better to call and be sure. Natural gas leaks can be detected using your senses of smell, sight, and hearing. Natural gas has a special odor to alert people to its presence. If you are around a natural gas pipeline and smell the scent of sulfur or rotten eggs, this may be an indication that there is a natural gas leak in the area. If you hear a hissing noise in the ground or on our meter set this could be caused from natural gas escaping from our piping. Visual indicators that natural gas may be leaking are isolated spots of dying vegetation directly over our line in an otherwise green area or bubbles in standing pools of water. If you believe any of these factors are occurring in your area then please call our emergency phone number 1-888-337-4774. If you have any questions or concerns please call our offi ce during normal business hours, the number to call is 336-526-2690. Thank you for being safe.
