SOUNDBITE: IOC President Thomas Bach. "What is very important for a more efficient and more robust fight against doping is more independence. More independence on the one hand from sports organisations, and more independence from the national interests. This has been addressed in today's resolution. The second point is more harmonisation worldwide. And here, a harmonised anti-doping programme for each sport, which is governed from the top down, and ensuring an equal treatment for all athletes on a worldwide level. And secondly, for the entourage of the athletes, for the doctors, for the dealers, for traffickers, for everybody implicated in a doping case around the athlete, we're asking for making this a criminal offense, so that the athlete will be punished very hard by the rules of a sport, by the rules of the anti-doping agency, pronounced by CAS; and these people who are facilitating doping or even encouraging athletes to doping, they should be held responsible by criminal law." President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, LIU Peng and President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander ZHUKOV Close up of Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander ZHUKOV SOUNDBITE: IOC President Thomas Bach. “WADA with these measures would be made much stronger because with this, WADA would have more authority also over national anti-doping agencies. It could supervise and manage the worldwide anti-doping programmes in a much more efficient way and would be strengthened by a unit that would deal with intelligence gathering investigation in such a way that would provide great synergy between the testing unit and the investigative unit.” Close up of Uğur ERDENER EB member representatives of IFs Wide of the conference room.
