Yard Waste & Brush Drop-Off Site Contact Us The yard waste & brush drop-off site is located at 91 N Perry Parkway (south of the Waste Water Treatment Facility). Yard waste is defined as Jeff Rau leaves, thatched grass, roots, flowers, and plant stalks. Public Works Facility 388 Park Street Brush Collection – 2nd Monday of the Month April - October All brush collected is disposed of by chipping. The following rules MUST be 608.835.3441 followed or brush will NOT be picked up.  Stumps and roots must be removed.  Brush must be tied in bundles of no more than twelve (12) inches in diameter and five (5) feet long. Yard Waste & Brush  Tie bundles with natural fiber string such as twine. DO NOT use Drop-Off Site nylon cord, plastic ties or wire. Location: 91 N Perry  Brush should be bundled with the cut end all at one end with bundles Parkway placed at a 45 degree angle to the street.  No brush will be picked up that is in a garbage bag.  Bundles of brush should not exceed 40 pounds in weight.  Place brush in an open area in the terrace at the street edge, away from fire hydrant(s), tree(s), electrical box(es), mail box(es), utility pole(s), and parked car(s). Brush NOT collected  Trimming done by a private contractor.  Brush cleared from undeveloped property.  Stumps or branches in excess of five (5) inches in diameter of eight (8) feet in length.

Leaf Collection – Begins October 18, 2021 Leaf pick-up is done with a leaf vac and taken to a disposal site. The After Hour Sewer Back- following rules MUST be followed or leaves will NOT be picked up. Holiday Tree & Wreath Collection Begins January 4, 2021 All holiday trees and/or wreaths must be at the curbside by 6:00 a.m. on the above date. Collection is dependent on the schedule of the Public Works Department Staff. All ornaments, tinsel and wire must be removed. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to make sure trees and wreaths are NOT buried in the snow. Public Works Department Staff will only go through the entire Village ONE TIME, so you MUST have the items at the curb on the time and date listed above. Village residents may also dispose of these items at the Yard Waste & Brush Drop-Off Site.

Snow Removal Guidelines The Village of Oregon Public Works Department follows the Snow & Ice Control Program put in place by the Village Board. The program designates certain areas, streets, sidewalks, alleys, parking lots, etc. into classes. These classes are ranked by their priority and snow removal is completed in class order.

The Public Works Department strives to plow and remove the snow from the designated routes and areas as efficiently and safely as possible. Please remember when there is a significant amount of snowfall the removal

process can take longer. Generally, during heavy snowfall events the snow removal crew will typically pass through an area twice; clearing a drive path first, followed with final plowing and clean-up. Please follow the DO’s and DON’Ts below to help the snow removal crew clear your street efficiently.

 DO park your vehicle(s) in your driveway, off the street, especially in cul-de-sacs.  DO OBEY all snow emergency rules/regulations, parking signage, and alternate side parking regulations.  DO NOT push or blow snow into or across streets or pedestrian areas  DO NOT pile snow in public right-of-ways  DO NOT park perpendicular in cul-de-sacs  Do NOT put trash and recycling carts in the street. Place in your driveway or the terrace area (area between sidewalk and curb)

Snow Removal on Sidewalks and Fire Hydrants Sidewalks need to be clear of snow and ice for pedestrian safety. Residents must shovel sidewalks within 24 hours of a completed snow event. The snow must be cleared the entire width of the sidewalk. Property owners who do not clear their Fire Department sidewalk promptly may be in violation of Village Ordinances and may face 131 Spring Street fines. In the event that ice has formed Emergency – 911 on the sidewalk and cannot be removed, the residents must use sand Non-Emergency and/or salt to effectively eliminate the 608.835.5587 dangerous conditions. www.oregonareafireems.org

Refuse & Recycling General Information The Village of Oregon contracts with Pellitteri for refuse and recycling pick- up. Residential complexes with four (4) units or less, which include single- family homes, duplexes, and three (3) unit and four (4) unit residential buildings are covered under the Village’s refuse and recycling contract.

In 2021, refuse (brown cart) and recycling (blue cart) will be picked up weekly year-round! The Village will be divided into four (4) sections with Contact Info each section having a different pick-up day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Phone: 608.257.4285 Thursday, and/or Friday). The 2021 collection calendar is effective January 1, 2021 and can be obtained at the Village’s website. Pellitteri will not send www.pellitteri.com 2021 collection calendars by mail. You may print one at the Village’s website or pick one up at the following locations: Village Hall, Library or the Senior Center.

The base monthly fee is $12.25 for 2021. The diesel fuel surcharge is applied if diesel fuel is over $3.00 per gallon. A rebate is given if diesel fuel is under $2.50 per gallon. The monthly rate will fluctuate depending on the cost of diesel fuel. The refuse and recycling charge is billed through the Village of Oregon Municipal Services monthly bill. Please note that Dane County’s increasing landfill costs may impact the monthly fee.

Refuse and Recycling carts must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day! Service times may vary from week to week. Trash and recycling carts are serviced at separate times during the day. Need a larger cart? Call Pellitteri for sizes and prices! The Village bills for the standard size cart on the Village of Oregon Municipal Services monthly bill.

Dane County Clean Sweep Program Clean Sweep is a place to bring hazardous household materials such as Oil- Contact Info Based Paints and Paint-Related Products, Pesticides & Poisons, Household Products Containing Organic Solvents, Ignitables, and Aerosols, and 7102 US Highway 12 Rechargeable Batteries. Individuals, K-12 public schools and Parental Choice Program schools can use E-Cycle Wisconsin to save on electronics recycling. Others may use the program to find responsible recyclers. Alternate Side Parking – November 15th – April 1st The following is an excerpt of Section 7.02 of the Village of Oregon Code of Ordinance.

Section 7 Traffic Code, .02 Parking Restrictions, Alternate All Night Parking does read as follows: 1. Alternate All Night Parking (a) Parking between midnight and 6:00 a.m. from November 15 to April 1 shall be permitted on the even numbered side of any street on even numbered days and on the odd numbered side of any street on odd numbered days, except only as hereinafter provided. Violator's vehicles may be towed away at the direction of a Village police officer. (b) Parking of motor trucks having a licensed gross weight of 8,000 lbs. or more, truck tractors, road tractors, trailers and semi-trailers shall be permitted during the hours in par. (a) on the following streets when authorized by permit issued by the Police Department, subject to the rules Contact Us and regulations of such permit.
