Herein you will also find detailed information about the COST 321, a European Action which is considered as important for the urban logistics sector. This study outlines the urban logistics sector in Turkey, including the current transportation networks of Istanbul, a metropolis which has so far been experiencing an unplanned urbanization. In addition, the article claims that due to its geographical position, industrial opportunities, ever-growing population, connections, and infrastructure, urban transportation has become more of an issue for the city. This study also analyzes endeavors of the last decade that aim to solve these above-mentioned problems, and their impacts. These impacts were analyzed based on the findings about COST 321, and possible logistics solutions were suggested within the study. Keywords: Urban Logistics, Transportation Investments, COST 321 1. Introduction Urban logistics is a system which was created to minimize emerging challenges and optimize various logistics services provided by different legal entities, considering urban road infrastructure, environmental impacts of the current situation, energy efficiency etc. Istanbul is a metropolis with a daily population of 20 million, whose traffic congestion rates have been at the top of the world lists for a significant while. -

Closed on Monday-Thursday CHURCH OF ST.SAVIOUR IN CHORA: The most important Byzantine monument in Istanbul. The walls are decorated with superb 14th century frescoes and mosaics. Closed on Wednesday ISTANBUL MUSEUM OF MODERN ART Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, Turkey’s first private museum to organize modern and contemporary art exhibitions, was founded in 2004 and has now moved to a temporary space in Beyoğlu, where it will welcome visitors from May 2018 onward for three years while its new building is being constructed. BEYLERBEYI PALACE: This beautiful palaces is located right on the Bosphorus on the Asian side of the city.The palaces has one main building and 5 pavalions. -

UNECE Euro-Asian Transport Linkages Operationalisation of inland transport between Europe and Asia The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe has a long history of support for developing transport connections between Europe and Asia. The EATL project, Phase I (2002–2007), Phase II (2008–2012) and Phase III (2013–2017) made transport between Europe and Asia a reality. The identification of routes, the prioritization of infrastructure investment projects, the development of a Geographical Information System (GIS) database, the analysis of non-physical obstacles to transport, the comparison study between maritime and inland transport, the organization of numerous national capacity-building workshops on transport facilitation as 3 Report − Phase Links (EATL) Transport Euro-Asian well as the efforts to operationalize those corridors by preparing common time schedules and tariffs, have all helped to lay the foundation for a more efficient Euro-Asian transport network. Phase III gathered 38 countries from Europe and Asia and concluded that road and rail transportation along Euro-Asian corridors is Phase 3 ReportPhase supplementing rather than competing with maritime transport, providing alternative delivery options, especially for high value and time-sensitive cargo, including in the context of growing e-commerce between Europe and Asia. During Phase III of the project, Governments in the EATL region have consistently worked on addressing the physical and non-physical obstacles to international transport on the EATL routes. In this sense, there has been a fl ourishing interest on developing transna onal transport corridors globally. Governments and par cularly transport policy makers have been keen on enhancing regional integra on with the adjoining countries via ins tu ng transport corridors. Once being an essen al part of one of the oldest transport corridors, the Ancient Silk Road, Turkey s ll stands at the crossroads of prominent transport corridors in North-South and East-West direc ons. The advantageous geographical loca on of Turkey which stretches from Asia to Europe and Russia to Africa allows it to be a regional and global hub.
