Richard Kiel war es, der sich als böser Beißer in den 007-Streifen „Der Spion, der mich liebte“ und „Moonraker“ einen schlechten Namen gemacht hatte. An jedem olympischen Tag gehen nun wieder Bewerbungen für seine Nachfolge ein. Georg Hettich war der Erste (weshalb er übrigens nicht 001 ist): Nach seinem Sieg im Gundersen-Einzel der Nordischen Kombination biss er in Pragelato bei der Sie- gerehrung auf Wunsch der Fotografen auf seine Goldmedaille. Selten ist es ein Kauen oder ein Lecken, immer ist es ein Zur- Schau-stellen der Beißerchen, ein richtiges Beißen. Warum machen die das? Jedes Kind weiß, dass Medaillen, seien sie aus Gold, Silber oder Bronze, nicht von Pappe, son- dern bissfest sind. Sportler sollten eher ordentliche Dental- pflege betreiben – damit sie auch morgen noch kraftvoll zu- beißen und Olympiasieger werden können. Vermutlich haben die Athleten aber folgenden Spruch im Ohr: OIympiastund hat Gold im Mund. Aber Gold im Mund ist doch – zumindest bei dieser Menge – ungesund. Zudem: Warum sprechen Sportler immer von mentalen Problemen? Haben viele von ihnen nicht eher ein dentales Problem, weil ihnen der Biss fehlt? Jetzt fehlt nur noch die Abschlussfrage: Sehen wir oder sehen die Sport- ler die Sache zu verbissen? Das Tolle an den Olympischen Spielen in Turin ist, dass die Medaillen erstmals ein Loch haben – und nicht die Zähne.

The world's best Nordic Combined athletes will come and before all the local hero Jason Lamy Chappuis – Olympic and World Champion. Known for its warm welcome, the stop in Chaux- Neuve is not only the biggest winter sports festival of the area but also amongst the most favourite World Cups of all the athletes. Situated in the middle of the Jura mountains and in the departement of Doubs, the small village of Chaux-Neuve hosts Nordic Combined World Cups (B (now COC) and A) since 1996. Only thanks to a enthusiastic and ambitious renovation plan. Chaux-Neuve now has one of the most modern stadiums in the whole World Cup circuit: The HS118 jumping hill was finished last year and the 2.5km track, names „le Lernier“ has been prolonged this winter. As the sixth of 13 World Cup stops in total in the season 2011/12, Chaux-Neuve represents the only French stage of the Nordic Combined World Cup.

Forum Nordicum 3 Deine Belohnung. Ski Championships Lahti will host the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2017 for a historic seventh time. We are extremely proud to be the first city to achieve this record. To celebrate our unique history, we decided to name the event the Centenary Championships. The Centenary Championships are both an exciting and carefully prepared world-class sports event and one of the festivities that celebrate the centenary of Finland’s independence. A rare occasion for us Finns – and hopefully for our international guests. Lahti offers an optimal setting for record-breaking performances. The traditional venue has undergone extensive renovation and is now a fully functioning stadium that meets today’s requirements. We are also proud to have Vierumäki Olympic Training Center as our athlete’s village that allows the athletes to unwind and focus all their energy on performing at their best. We hope that the 2017 World Championships will leave their mark on future decades of sports events in Lahti and in Finland. The event has gained a great deal of popularity among young people, and we will soon have a new generation of volunteers for sports events.
