Kenny Sparks ’13 academics and student life, but also, they would be great contributors to the college while they’re there. “A big reason why I like to do that is because I’ve had great mentors both while I was at Alma in terms of professors and staff members and also alumni mentors afterward,” he says. Sparks recently visited three alumni in Albuquerque, N.M., who are at the opposite ends of their careers. Among the many activities at homecoming is the legacy brunch in the Remick Heritage Center lobby for alumni with high school-aged siblings, children or grandchildren. In fall 2014, legacy students — students whose grandparents, parents or siblings have attended Alma — made up 13 percent of the entering class.
